Former British welterweight champion David Barnes has been added to the Clinton Woods vs Jason Delisle IBF light-heavyweight title card at the Ponds Forge Centre in Sheffield on May 13.

According to Fight Academy promoter Dennis Hobson the 25 year-old from Manchester will take part 'in a meaningful 10 round fight'. The Sheffield promoter also speculated that if David comes through unscathed he will look to get him a top 15 world ranking and a world title fight at light-welterweight.

The Sheffield undercard also features Mark Krence defending his English heavyweight title against Carl Baker, as well as local favourites Femi Fehintola, Nicky Smedley and John Ibbotson.

Maybe Barnes wanted to get more fights as he wasnt under SN? his last fight was a pointless 4 rounder against Silence Saheed where fighters like Matthew Hall and a few other could of used that space for learning fights instead of not fighting at all. Also while i am at it When is Gary lockett fighting again, its not good for him just having a 30 second fight and having to wait 5 months for his next fight.

He wouldn't be ready so soon.
