I know we were laughing at the time, but with hindsight it doesn't seem such a ridiculous mismatch does it?

I dont understand, are you suggesting Audley would have a chance against Bruno now that he's proved himself as a heartless pussy?

Bruno would wipe the floor with Audley.

It'll be a good floor wiping lesson for Audley, because if he keeps this up, he's gonna have to quit boxing and become a janitor to make ends meet.

Bruno would have come out, steamed straight into a pertified Audley and clubbed him with a few rights on top of the head.

Bruno Ko1

I'd disagree that Bruno had a glass jaw, he just didn't know what to do when he got hit hard and hurt.. If he's learnt to have held on earlier in his career then I don't think many people would mention his chin

I assumed it was a joke... but you are right, anyone who genuinely thinks bruno has a glass jaw shouldnt be using these forums...

Yep agreed, if he had have been glass jawed, then he wouldn't have ended his fight with Tyson still on his feet. As far as I can remember Bruno was never actually knocked out, but rather rescued by the ref, and was certainly never sparked out.

How many times was he actually on the canvas???

Tyson 1 he wasnt (apart from that slip 10 seconds in)
Tyson 2 he took a knee didnt he???
Lewis No
Witherspoon no
Bonecrusher...never seen this fight, but i think he hit the deck
Jumbo ...he didnt go down did he???

someone please help me here :-)

Exactly my point. Against Bonecrusher and/or Witherspoon wasn't he sort of clubbed to the canvas in the corner, half sitting on the ropes with his knee on the canvas or some such thing. Not sure exactly, but he never ended a fight Rahman style on his back with his arms out, and when you consider that he faced Tyson AND Lewis, to of the hardest punching heavyweights in history (yes Lewis is in my book one of the hardest punchers there has ever been), it's obvious he didn't have a glass jaw.

But when it was being talked about it was not a prime Bruno, it was a 40 year old guy having a nervous breakdown, even Audley could have managed that, that is why he was interested.

I have to say, I thought at the time that it was very poor taste. Frank had been retired for years and had serious eye damage too which forced him to retire as I recall, so what on earth was he doing talking about fighting Frank.

I'd have still given Frank a good chance of chinning him even as a 40 year old. One solid shot and Audley would have been seeing tweety birds.

You might actually say Bruno was Iron jawed with the haymakers he was taking from Tyson and Lennox and not going down. Chuvalo took the same sought of shots from Foreman and supposedly has the greatest chin in history.

Ohh and a 40yo Crack addicted 12 stone Bruno still chins Audley.

As some have picked up, I meant the rumoured fight in 2002, not prime Bruno as he'd have killed Audley.

Whatchoo talkin bout Willis? :o

How can you suggest a hypothetical bout involving Audley Harrison? :o

Bruno was not great, he was slow, robotic & couldn't react under pressure, but at least he had balls.

Both of them have poor stamina, but Bruno's superior heart would see him crush the tin man.

No contest I'm afraid.

Just noticed this after I posted my reply to the initial response.

I think even Harrison ( :o ) could have nicked a points win against a 41 yr old, ring rusty Bruno with mental issues. That's providing he had the stamina to last the course.

Bruno's stamina was poor, but Audley would not have put enough pressure on Bruno to tire him out, so I don't believe Frank's lack of stamina would have been an issue.

Bruno could probably beat him now, let alone then.... :D

Bruno didn't have the greatest chin ever, but it wasn't too bad looking back.
Rather than drop to the canvas, a good shot would short circuit him, causing him to lose his senses, drop his hands and stand there defenceless while the other guy clubbed him to the canvas.

But if was only really big punches that put him in trouble - nothing like a Herbie Hide style chin that's for sure.

Tyson put him over twice I think.
And 'Spoon and Crusher clubbed him to the canvas after about 20 unanswered shots ( after a big right hand stunned him )

Same with Cummings: a big right hand and Frank dropped his hands and stood rooted to the canvas. The bell rang and Lawless sprinted into the ring, grabbed him an hauled him back the corner. Frank had no idea where he was, but recovered pretty quick.

Frank v Aud????? Not even worth talking about.
