that's something i've been asking. no one seems to have a copy. shame, as it's meant to be an absolute classic with a double knockdown ending

Unfortunately not. I have been looking for it myself, ITV Wales (or HTV Wales as I still call it) showed a fair amount of boxing when it was off in ITV England, as part of their "Top Sport" Programme. Presented by Bob Symmonds.

They showed several Steve Robinson fights (later career), stuff of Dean Phillips, Gareth Jordan, Mervyn Bennett (R.I.P), Harry Woods, J.T. Williams, Michael Smyth, Barry Jones and several other fringe title contendors.

I'm not sure why it was on in Wales alone - must have been the Ian Turner vs Frankie Di Milo undercard fight that they were interested in.

I would love to get hold of some of these shows.

because it was an awesome scrap ..... :TU:

Terry and Carl both great fighters with heavy hands....

Bad to be on the losing team in a fight like that for sure.... Carl "The Cat' Thompson, to use the old cliche, certainly had 9 lives.

Great to see you posting on here by the way... I remember you used to be on British boxing forum... that was a lively old place at times wasnt it!!!

It was definately shown on ITV.... Its been aired on Eurosport right now, and its got the old ITV logo.

We never had Steve Bunce on the commentary in Wales for this fight, the HTV Wales had a different production.
