(Completely Off-Topic) My Charity-Project For 2006.....

“ME, JOANNA, & THE AXE”
Ladies & Gents,
Thank you for taking the time to read this information. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Colin Harris and I have the internet-handle of “T.M.K”. Each year I try to do a charity-project, whereby instead of asking for a handout we sell an item that you buy and all the proceeds go to a specified charity. I generally promote these via the message board on http://www.statusquo.co.uk and my own personal e-mail-networks, and we (the group of people who help me out) have been doing well so far: In 2002 we sold a video of the band “Spare Parts” in concert and sold enough copies to raise 500 pounds for the NSPCC. In 2003 we did a DVD of “Spare Parts & Friends” and managed to raise 3000 pounds for a young lad named Joshua Woodford-Shaw to have a trip with his family to Disneyland USA before his terminal illness made it impossible. 2004 saw me record an unplugged CD with my Petrol Band & Friends and we raised 4000 pounds for the children’s wards of Ipswich hospital.
Now for 2006 I have changed direction slightly, and instead of doing another Quo-cover project I have done my first original-work since 2003, and have made an acoustic-album of my own songs, all played and sung by………..well, ME!
This CD is due to be released in the summer of 2006 (June or July) and will contain 11 tracks of me playing piano/guitar/harmonica/percussion and singing. I am also hoping to include 4 bonus tracks of previous work in the same vein to round-it up to 15 tracks. Not only will there be my 15 songs, but I am also going to include a bonus CD which will contain a further 15 self-penned tracks by friends of mine – not necessarily acoustic (although a couple are), and generally very hard-rockin. :P
So what I am basically trying to sell to you is a Double-CD package containing 30 own-compositions songs, and for this I will ask you to pay no more than 10 pounds (plus P&P). Just for the moment, I’d like to know who’d like to reserve a copy (so I know roughly how many to get printed)…. :)
All profits (hopefully 5 pounds per CD) will be going to the Shona Smile Foundation – a charity set-up by a friend of mine who lost his daughter, Shona, to terminal cancer and wants to raise money for medical-exploration into the disease - as well as making the final dreams possible of those children who do not have long left. More details can be found on http://www.shonassmile.org
Many thanks,
Colin “T.M.K” Harris

PS: For those of you who bought “Acoustic Quotes”, I’d say this album is the same sort of thing, only self-penned tracks, not Quo-covers. 8)
PPS: For those of you who know the Quo-fan circle, the bonus CD contains self-penned tracks by “Bad Ex”, Paul Carr from State Of Quo, & Spare Parts amongst others.
