Who do you folks think was the best dancing master and had the best footwork? I would say Willie Pep, Sugar Ray Robinson, and a pre-1970 Ali. Any others you can name?

These are the obvious choices. Sugar Ray Leonard is another one.

Willie Pep's footwork was light years ahead of everyone elses'. He almost floated across the canvas, and I'm not exaggerating. He may only be landing ten punches a round, but I could watch Pep for days on end. His fighting style was actually beautiful.

That show was so good people used to stay home from school just to watch it and then talk about it the next day. Many very entertaining bad acts. And I don't believe they were fake worthless acts unlike American idol.

Old as dirt? Middle age maybe. That should actually be the prime of your life. Just look at all the people who didn't sucseed until after age forty.

I always wondered who that woman judge was by the name of JP Morgan. The judges were all supposed to have been celebreties, but I have never herd of her before or since.

Occasionaly they would have a cool act on like the guy playing guitar and doing a Hendrix tribute way before the tribute band had been invented.

jaye p, morgan was a singer....had some hit records but was known mostly for her appearances on a tv show where contestants had to NAME THAT TUNE...which may have been the title..though there was another one..title i forget...on which a few bars of a song woiuld be played and the contestant had to..well...name that tune. host was bert parks. it is not my fault that people don't remember or even know these shows or names. jaye p. was a smart gal, very together and an excellent interview subject.

back to the subject....willie pep....no doubt about it.

two others....willie pastrano and ralph dupas .....different weight classes but very similar footwork. unlike willie, though,. the didn't throw punches in bunches the way he did.

the young ali saw pastrano in the gym and was impressed and to some degree influenced by him.
