Strange to see the BBC website call this Cardiff bill a "mouth-watering card" when all we have is Joe, Enzo and Khan v TBA, plus a recycled Williams/Skelton.

By 'mouth-watering' they must mean 'a pile of dribble'.

Or maybe they'll be selling Opal Fruits.

But I don't think Starbursts were ever sold with the caption "made to make your mouth water"!

I guess they must be having alot of trouble getting a suitable opponent. I hear Manfredo is out of the running now.

I'll go if Enzo is giving hobson a rematch! Only Warren would have the arrogence to think he could sell this one out without naming opponents for most of the top fighters.

See, affirmation that we live in a culture of instant gratification.

Thats a good point about Warren but if it all falls apart he'd look a right fool.

How about Yusef Mack he's fighting for the IBF no 1 spot or even Robert Stieglitz he's highly ranked by both e IBF & WBO and may sell well as he's German in the middle of the world cup build it as Britain-Germany.

Steiglitz is the IBF mandatory, but he is currently sidelined with an injury.

July 8 is still 2 months away so maybe he'd be fit for that. Or how about your countryman Rudy Markussen that would build a possible Calzaghe-kessler fight up for you Danes !

what does boxing chat think of this??

It strikes me that most of the names mentioned are not realy stadium fillers, even Froch would put more bums on seats than Manfrado (not that I think the two should fight).

Well, as long as they get it right I don't care when they announce it.

Allan Green would mean getting it wrong though. I still hope they really surprise us and present Kessler.....

Markussen wouldn't have any chance against Calzaghe, and lately Markussen has showed himself to be very reluctant about becomming cannon-fodder for the champs (in that case - Beyer).
Unless Markussen gets a very handsome offer i doubt he'd go for it. And the idea that Warren would ever make anyone a handsome offer is ridiculous.

Anyway. No loss.
Fight would be as pointless as Green or Manfredo.

Howard Eastman?

Although granted of late Howard's looked not hugely motivated and as slow as a fat bloke near a fan on a hot day.

But he's got pedigree, chin (in theory) and is known.

In fact, what am I saying, this would be an awful fight. I just still want to believe Eastman could have been class.

As an impartial onlooker I have to say we're being a tad unfair on Warren, so far on the card we have the following fights....

Calzaghe v tba
Williams V skelton 2
Ezo Mac V TBA (interim WBO fight)
Khan V TBA (likely to be a half decent fighter should he get pst his kings hall test - which is a step up considering he's had only 6 fights)
Tony Doc V Taz Jones 2 (decent first fight)
Locket V Rhodes (long awaited)
Bradley Pryce V TBA
Facey V Hall

And its going to be on uk free tv. Compare that to the upcoming Hatton ppv card... infact when was the last UK card as good as this?

I agree, the card is shaping up pretty well. It'd be nice if they surprised us and came up with Kessler as the opponent, but whoever it is it'll probably just add to an entertaining and interesting card.

If I can last enough rounds before being KO'ed than I don't mind.

Froch would be stopped too quick with his low guard thinking he could brawl with Joe.

TBA is a step up for Khan?? :D That's some spin you're weaving there!

And do you really think Lockett/Rhodes is gonna happen? Great if it does - in fact deserves a show on it's own - but I doubt it somehow...

I think they'll still be trying to get Lockett & Rhodes in the same ring in 2009 on the undercard of Amir Khan's junior-middleweight world title shot!

I admit there are some okay fights but this is supposed to be a massive event and we don't know who the two biggest fighters on the bill are fighting. You can have as good an undercard as you want if the headliners are Enzo Maccanelli vs my gran and Calzaghe vs lirva33's gran
