DLH's final fight - who do you want.

What fight do you think will enhance DLH's legacy the most, if indeed you think he should fight again.
I personally think DLH should fight at the same weight, but weigh in with weights on an challenge the winner of Wright vs Taylor for the Middleweight title.
Alot of people think his WBO title was a bullshit one (although with Sturm's success since its getting harder). If Winky wins it is still two strong Light Middles fighting each other.
Another option would be to get revenge over his one of the three opponents who have beaten him. With Mosley and Hopkins involved with his business it might be hard - but gets in that motivated he might start as favourite vs the 3.
Floyd Mayweather is P4P king, so that will obviously have its benefits.
Lots thought Sturm won their meeting, however I think a motivate DLH will fancy his chances.
The other option is too retire.

mayweather.
fascinating fight.
will mayweather's skill pick off an ageing de la hoya or will oscar's stength and power do a number on little floyd.

Not sure what DLH will have to gain if he beats Floyd myself.
The old saying of a "a good big un beats a good little un" usually comes true, and still works if you change good to special.
The critics will have a field day if DLH beats Floyd.
Wright vs Taylor winner (especially if its Wright) for me is the more interesting, cause I think DLH's size is comparable to Wright and I think style wise could cause more problems vs Taylor than he did vs Hopkins and at least it will distract the critics view that he never won a legit version of the Middleweight belt.

i agree that people would just say that mayweather was way out of his real weight limit.
fighting winky will be fornicating boring though.

winky on a boring decision everytime on that one.
taylor won't win so he's out of it.

roman karmazin isn't a big enuff name.
mayweather it is.

plus it gets mayweather out of hatton's face for the time being.

I'm going for Oscar vs Taylor... I think Taylor will beat Wright on a controversial decision... then the way will be clear for him to face Oscar.
Oscar vs Mayweather is an interesting fight but I think Oscar would have mmore to lose than he would have to gain... if he loses to Taylor then he's lost to a bigger and younger man.
Mayweather should fight Mosely imo... that'd be a great match!...

Roman Karmazin. Oscar's been ducking him for years. Let's see the ever blurring line between faded veterans and low key elite guys at 154 bridged. For my money Karmazin well beats him.
Doubbtful it happens with a lucrative poss fight vs Mayweather. But what if Oscar , say, didn't want to fight Mayweather. A loss might hurt his legacy in that he could have lost his 2nd fight to a p4p #1, the other being Hopkins (a lot of ppl downplay Hopkins' win, but BH didn't fight like a m/w, he actually outboxed the faster younger guy...)
Maybe Oscar goes for a title unification with Karmazin, who knows. In the same way that Barrera has decided not to go for Pacquiao yet, preferring Rocky Juarez...I'm sure it wouldn't he too hard to sell. I would love to see it, would be one DLH fight that I'd actually look forward to

What will it do for Mayweather if he steps up and beats Oscar? I think there would be no arguing his greatness then. Oscar (Even an old one) is one of the few people I could see beating Mayweather though.

I want Mayweather fight but if any deserves a rematch its Ike Quartey, who I thought beat Oscar.

i'd fancy oscar to stop him these days as well.

A win over Floyd would definitely be best for his legacy but it won't happen because:
1) Floyd Senior does not want it
2) DLH does not want to go out on a defeat and Floyd would be too much of a risk for that.
With Mosley & Vargas tied up, I reckon Trinidad will be back to fight him in September at 154 lbs.

I think we all know that PBF & Oscar would be the biggest fight at this moment in time, Oscar would love to retire P4P number 1, IMO if the fight did come off Oscar would walk straight through PBF, i am a big fan of PBF but i really do think that Oscar would be too big & strong for PBF to deal with.

Yeah fair shout, Oscar would be too much for Mayweather. In turn DLH knows he's too small to mix it for real at Midldle, so that rules out Sturm, Taylor etc.
I wouldn't rule out the Mayweather option, just because of the sheer revenue it would generate. However, neither need the money, and Roger Mayweather knows better than us all who would win, and how.
I think he should quit whilst he's ahead.

He should make the offer for Hatton to come up after Collazo. That'd piss Floyd right off.

Yep DLH V Hatton, then the winner V Floyd Mayweather Jnr
Worse case DLH Beats Floyd Mayweather Jnr, DLH Retires & The Hatton V Mayweather is not such a mega fight anymore :(
Since you left Hatton out i went for retierment

Again I think DLH would be too big for Hatton. He's only just trying his hand at welter. A jump right up to Light Middle would be too much. Hatton is about 5 inches shorter, and would be podgy at that weight.
Be a good fight tho

Maybe Karmazin should try and avenge his defeat to Javier Castillejo and earn his shot. De La Hoya won every round against Javier and dropped him in the last.
There's levels and levels, Karmazin has beaten Dave Walker and Kassim Ouma – he's not boxed (let alone beaten) anyone remotely close to Oscar's class.

Castillejo won a lucky decision. Karmazin has beaten two top guys in Holmes and Ouma, and is better right now than the old versions of dlh, mosley and vargas! Ouma was considered the heir apparent to Winky - -something that RK made nonsens eof. Of course it's hard to judge a guy on one fight (vs Ouma). But speaking of levels, how many levels was Karmazin above Ouma? And he's goin to be much fresher than dlh

I don't believe it was a lucky decision – I seem to remember Karmazin being rocked a couple of times – either way, life and death with Castillejo doesn't make you an elite fighter.
You yourself say that Karmazin made nonsense of Ouma being the new Winky Wright! – in fact, he is far from it.
However, we are all entitled to our own opinions.

even so, Karmazin is coming along very impressively and is a hard fight for anyone. I like his combination of precision boxing and wicked body punching. Problem is, fights are not being made for him. The Santos fight and the Gonzalez unification were scrapped. Seems Cory Spinks will be next. If Karmazin spanks Spinks, he'll have to be taken seriously as an elite fighter

I think Karmazin would give Oscar murders right now, but he isn't enough of a name to get the fight.

Roman ( a very likeable guys) will have to have improved a lot or Oscar will have had to have lost a lot of his skills if there were to be an upset....
Karmazin and Castillejo fought in 2002 and although a close fight Roman lost the decision....12 months earlier De La Hoya had beaten on the spaniard winning every round and dropping him in the last....It was also Oscars first fight at the weight so he didnt have the strength or power he has now.....

Four years is a long time, I don't think Oscar is the same fighter he was then, and Karmazin has a better set of tools than the likes of Mayorga. I'm not saying he would neccesarily win, but I think he could give Oscar a very hard night.

Fair enough assesment, however I feel De La Hoya is closer to the fighter he once was than we all thought prior to Saturday night.
And for some to say he's been ducking Karmazin for years is borderline ludicrous!
