Boxers Biographies

I'd like to see this become a sticky thread, because it's something obviously we'd all refer back to from time to time. I think it'd be great to begin compiling a list of biographies of various boxers. Just give us the title, the author's name, and additional comments, your opinion, if it's out of print, in another language, availability by country etc. I think we'd all like to know what's out there.

We have small biographies in the encyclopedia section of the web site.

Barry, I think Seamus is asking for a list of published biography books. We have a list of many, but not all, here:

Thanks Ric, that's a good start. Has anyone read the bio of Panama Al Brown ? I assume it's in English. I also believe there are a couple of bios of Barney Ross, the most recent of which was written by Douglas Century, and I vaguely remember a bio of Willie Pep called "Will O The Wisp". Aren't there bios of Langford and Greb due out in the near future ?

As the Wiki page states, it's written in French. I have that book, and have had portions translated for me.

The Burley book has been added to the list:

Thanks Ric.

Seamus- Clay Moyle has done a book on Langford that should be out some time soon and Steve Compton is doing the Greb book - though God knows when that will be ready. Hopefully not too much longer.
