Could it be a black day in Boston for an over confident Hatton?

He's taking on a slick, possibly bigger fighter with HUGE motivation.
He's had a terrible run up to this fight in terms of promotional chaos and doubt over the whole thing: change of location and who knows how many opponents were named.

He's never fought at this weight before, and Collazo suddenly looks a lot better on paper this week than he did last week. The very decent fighter he won this title from just stepped up a weight and is now champ at 154.

All in all, I'm getting the feeling that Ricky could be in for a tough night on Saturday - and I'm hoping cuts don't come into this either.

I'd fancy Collazo to do a job here actually. Saw a couple of his fights and seems to be comfortable fighting come forward pressure fighters like Hatton. He uses those very fast hands of his to nail them as they come in.

I think this is a 50/50 fight and took 7/2 for £50 on Collazo today.

He is a very big Welterweight and although Hatton beat Tszyu which was terrific it seems to be Tszyu's last fight.

Hatton did beat Maussa who was probably as crude if not more so than Mayorga.

I fancy Collazo on points.

7/2....that's tempting, but I better not as I really want to see Hatton win this and go on to bigger things ( Oscar says his next choice of opponent will surprise people...well, it'd be a helluva surprise for Ricky if he got the nod )

Just like both of you I'm getting the feeling that this could be one step away from a nightmare for Hatton as the problems start to stack up.

No problem, Hatton wins by TKO or KO late rounds.

Only problem that Hatton might have will be cutts early in the fight!

Collazo will go on to say that he has never been hit so hard in his life!

I like Collazos style and its a style Rickys never faced. Fast slick southpaw whos happy to mix it up and has a high workrate. It could cause him nightmares or he may push Collazo back and work him over all night long because Collazo hasn't fought at this level yet hes an unknown. The Rivera fight was close but a clear win for Collazo, Hatton will push him allot harder than Rivera as hes much better. Collazo may be fired up for this 1 though.

I don't like this fight for Hatton, but Johnny Bos tipped Hatton in Boxing News and he knows more (about boxing) than anyone according to Mickey Duff.

i expect major trouble for hatton, but expect him to win a close decision...of course, the fight is in boston which is far from vegas...the epicenter of business-influenced decisions, so maybe collazo could get the nod!!

as for your comparison of maussa to mayorga...i'm envious & embarrassed that i never noticed the obvious similarity of those 2 wild goons!!

Maussa makes Mayorga look like Pernell Whitaker, he's tough but Hatton doesn't get any praise from me for that win.

Have been worried about this fight for a while with Hatton having so much to lose if he slips up here. Collazo is going to be the fastest puncher Hatton has fought, is naturally bigger, has quick feet and is a southpaw. Still think Hatton will win the fight by late stoppage but I bet he loses the first 3-4 rounds.

What I like about Hatton is he's calm in a crisis. Even with all the trouble going on in the background, Hatton overcame rough moments vs Maussa (what does you all expect, Carlos is a very tough guy) and broke him down then blew him out in style. He deserves credit for making adjustments after being cut and tangled up etc. Collazo's leftie stance and skills will be another sort of awkward problem, but as with Maussa, I don't think the outside the ring problems will bog him down enough to ruin his performance

(As far back as the Thaxton fight, Hatton's face looked terrible but he was boxing brilliantly all the way through)

I'm sure Collazo won't have faced anyone as capable of putting severe pressure on as Hatton. How will Collazo take it?
