Naseem Hamed faces prison today when he gets sentanced for dangerous driving , he was involved in a crash which left 1 person seriouly injured, he didn't do himself any favours by leaving the scene of the crash before the police got there.

Does anybody else think that the only reason Naz suddenly started turning up at fights and giving interviews saying he'll be back was to try to avoid jail by pleading against locking him up with only a couple of years remaining in his career? Sounds suspicious to me.

Yep, that is precisely what I thought too. We've certainly seen scant evidence that he is in any kind of serious training, didn't he say he would be back in the summer? Well, Summer is here Naz...

I dont wanna see him make a come back anyway, too late in the day.

Unless he was going to come back as a cruiserweight, there was never any chance of him returning.

I'm really surprised at Naz, as he is always pontificating about his faith.

I thought he would know better.

if someone went into your parents and they spent weeks in hospital after the crash left them with fractures to "every major bone in there body and nearly killing them, and the person who crashed into them then ran off. do you still think 15 months is a harsh sentence?

Fortunately we don't base our laws and sentencing on the outrage of the relatives of the offended parties, otherwise we'd have the death penalty.

The law is meant to be impartial, rational and not emotional.

naz had 4 previous motoring offences and fled the scene before the police arrived.

i think the sentence is fair.

15 months eh? Might as well use that time to get himself in shape.

Doubt he'll server anything more than 6.

Not far wrong. He's likely to serve 1/3 of his sentence and be out on tag.

He should have to do community service when he gets out (wont happen though)

surely getting into a fight in front of 10,000 witnesses has to be against the conditions of anyones bail.

real deal you are a bit of a turnip - in my opinion the sentence is slightly harsh. unlike your good self i do not automatically align myself with the wisdom of our judiciary. i have a think and weigh up the case first.
the poster who said that these decisions must be made with a rational and not an emotional attitude was spot on. leave my parents out of this

If he came out on a tag, then he would be under strict rules about how late he could be out, probably latest would be 8pm.

Also he should now be banned by the BBBoC for 15 months, doesn't matter how long he serves in prison. The board banned people like Niky Booth and Dean Francis for how long there sentance was not just the time they spent in prison.
