On that performance I think Mayweather would destroy Hatton. No jabs, less body shots than normal and smothered his own work.

I scored it 115-112 to Hatton, same as 2 of the judges. If you went by the Sky panelists, Piper, Nelson and Hart it would of been a MD to Collazo which I think is stretching it a bit.

Hatton needs a second gameplan rather than just charging forward all the time.

I don't think Hatton is comfortable at Welter and didn't seem to have the same amount of energy that he had at Light Welter. I also don't expect Hatton to be taking on any more southpaws in the near future.

tough opponent and he managed to spoil and offset hatton quite badly at times.

i'd like to see hatton go back down to 140 as well and fight castillo and someone more straight forward.

I agree with most of what you have said. But lets be a bit sober and fair for a second, yes hatton wasnt quite his usual self, but he was fighting the worst possible type of opponent, in his first match at welter. Luis is tall, r a n g y, a southpaw, good movement, and above all he has been a welter since the age of 15! I think this was always huuuuge risk for the hitman and he did well to come up trumps.

I thought Hatton definetly won that fight, by at least 2 points. It's true Collazo was landing the cleaner punches, but he wasn't landing enough. Hatton was right on top of him in every round. The ref could of warned for holding too.

Billy needs to take note of this fight, and get Hatton using his jab in future.

i thought your rd by rd scorecard on the current scene was just about bang on.

It doesn't help though scoring a fight at 5am, watching it on a stream that cuts out the first 15 seconds of every round

Will probably download the fight tomorrow or catch it on Sky next week.
I'm just glad he got the win and now move onto bigger things!

i think they were a bit unwise because they had forgotten about the jab thinking it was not important and would be their downfall against a 7inch reach advantage. They have got to remember that even in ricky's case, the jab is the most important thing in an elite boxer's arsenal.

Yes, Hatton was fighting a difficult opponent but he didn't change a thing to adapt to that opponent, in fact he dropped some things such as his jab. In his last 2 fights I think Hatton has actually regressed a bit, he needs to polish up his technique again and put ugly displays such as this one and the Maussa fight behind him.

Its not just Floyd Mayweather I think he'll struggle with - Floyd will make him look a bit silly, unfortunately. Margarito will be too strong - Think Collazo will beat him if he gets a rematch.

the first two aren't welterweights - which was a pretty big factor last night - and judah would have folded under the pressure that ricky showed in the first 4 rds, zab not being tough enough to function under attacks like that

No pleasing some people. Hatton finally getting involved in competetive close fights, and people still moan about him.

Had Collazo been orthadox Hatton would have crushed him. He just seems to struggle with the southpaws.

to be honest, i thought mayweather looked just as beatable against zab and showed just as many weaknesses as hatton did last night. Ricky's opponent didnt go to sleep after round 6, ricky's opponent is a strong welter who can bang, ricky's opponent has good handspeed, ricky's opponent had a 7.5 inch reach advantage, ricky didn't get knocked down.
