Ricky is a very lucky man, I seriously urge him to move back down to light welterweight. It was clearly apparent that he just couldn't apply himself or bully Collazo like he could in the lower weight.

I scored it exactly like you except for the even round, I felt in that round there was a 30 second window in the last 1/3 of the round where Ricky did just enough to steal it.

I had it 116-112 , with me having the 10th even and whatever round Merchant gave to Hatton but Ledderman scored for Collazo to Hatton(6/7th I think) .

Hatton by about one round. I have to say, Ricky should move down to light welterweight. With his style, he needs to be stronger than his foes. Still can't see those bloody southpaw right hooks coming. it could have been a draw, I don't think it was, but i can't make a case for Collazo winning, he just didn't do enough

if he'd stayed with warren, this kind of mess wouldn't have happened. if he were to fight a foe like that, he'd do it when he was ready. but i give him credit for taking the toughest available guy and beating him - by the skin of his teeth

it was clinton woods who emerged last night as the guy with true world class tools. 11 years as a pro, he's saved his best till now, that was an excellent perofrmance last night. out of all the top guys from 168-175, i feel it's woods who'll give calzaghe his biggest test. DeLisle isn't the best opponent in the world, but what better to mark Woods' improvement than a domination of a guy he labored to beat once?

I can see why the fight was scored for Hatton, but for me this is one of these rare fights when a round by round scorecard doesn't give a fair reflection of the fight... Luis Collazo won the fight clearly if you look at the fight on the whole and not on round by round.

sure, but he'd have got him a difficult fight like that only if and when he was ready, and i doubt he's ever have had hatton move up to welter. hatton told me two years ago that no way was he a welter - but the last min rush for an opponent and the lure of a title seduced' him into it for yesterday

Everyone (including myself) that i have heard from seems to be as or more adamant of ricky's victory upon the second viewing. For example, watching it again this morning, ricky clearly won round 2 imo.

Gutted, cos i had a tenner on Collazo points at 10-1 and think he won the fight. Hatton didn't look like he had a future at welter, because he can't use his strength and aggression in the same way he could down at 10st. Good fight though and you can't really argue with Hatton getting the decision.

It was close, but Collazo didnt do enough to win it on points.

It was a good acheivement by ricky, moving up a weight, fighting a highly skilled champ with a bigger frame, more height and more reach. This combined with the fact he wasn't fighting away from home, makes it a good victory.

However, I would like to see him move down a weight and dominate there. Welter changes the dynamic of his fighting style too much, he looked just a bit too small to be in there with Collazo. But fair dos...he gave a good shot at smothering him and deserved the win, just.

He will have his way against lt-welters/lightweights corrales and castillo imo because the strength will be back in his favour, which is why i think ricky proved alot with his victory.

Yep and Hatton strongly inferred straight after the fight, that he may look to move back down. Hatton is honest about his abilities, made no bones about how close and difficult it was, admitting that he was hurt on numerous occassions.

i think it is in his best intersest not to fight welterweights. He can fight at the welterweight limit, but if its against mayweather and cotto then they are neither of them welterweights so it would be even stevens.
