Hes 41 yrs old! Hes lost his last 13 straight fights! So not exactly coming in on a hot streak but if old boy Jules can even beat a guy whos been chinned by Tony Booth and Steve frickin Spartacus then i think the BBFC should revoke his licence whilst some parts of his brain are not yet mush. You never know they could come in useful in the next 30 to 40 yrs of his life.

Boxing can be a deppressing sport sometimes. Its not even like its to fill up a good card, the other fights on the whole look a bit shit.

Francis isn't taking any punishment though, he knows what he is doing in there. He comes to mug, spoil and survive, avoid getting knocked out and pick up his pay check.

Promoters and the sport need guys like Julius to give their fighters a chance to gain some experience in a low risk encounter. It's not pretty, it's not something many of us want to see, but it serves an important purpose. Boxing, unlike Tennis is a risky business, and so these sort of fights can be important in the developement of a young fighter.

Look at Peter Buckley, the guy has fought Hamed twice, Freitas, Duke McKenzie, Colin McMillan, Michael Brodie, Paul Ingle, Spencer Oliver, Jason Booth, Dean Pithie, Scott Harrison, Michael Gomez, Bradley Pryce, Lee Meager, Kevin Lear, and is still giving prospects a test today, he hasn't won in 3 years, but that's because generally he is going in against a better fighter who he is there to be the standard 'opponent' for and goes in to survive so he doesn't get a suspension from the BBBofC.

Buckley hasn't been stopped since Bradley Pryce did it in 2002.

Peter Buckley is my hero and deserves a knighthood for his services to boxing. ONe key difference is that when you are dealing with Heavyweights even though francis doesn't get hit often those hits are going to add up.

The last fights I've seen of Francis he seems to be shipping plenty of punches... he's no Willie Pep and while he may not be getting 'beat up' as such I think he should be watched closely...

Welll, not seen him for a while, when last I saw him he was looking after himself pretty well, if he is getting bashed around then of course he should either stop or be stopped.

Jules is a 40 yr old man getting hit in the head repeatedly. Just because hes not getting knocked out doesnt mean hes not getting "hurt". No way can you say what Jules is doing to himself right now is going to end with him being a bright eyed aware cheery man in his 50s or 60s. Hes going to be a drooling sleepy slurring ex-pug & the BBFC need to revoke his licence. And this is coming from a guy who loves big Jules!

Trying to save boxers from themselves isn't a 'slippery slope' imo... most fighters who end up with some form of damage after their careers have usually fought on too long and into a too advanced age... punishment that the body can shake off and recover from in your 20s and early 30s is much more serious and lasting once you get into the mid and late 30s ....and once you're into your 40s forget it... Francis should be saved from himself otherwise he's going to become another walking advert of the dangers of boxing...
