What did everyone think of Danny's efforts last night - I was getting worried at time there, I know he didn't have much sparring - but to say he was lethargic at times was an understatement.

At times he was getting out muscled by a 15 stone guy. Although never seriously hurt, I don't think that performance enhanced his reputation as a good chin fighter - he looked a little distressed at time.

Definately doesn't like taking uppercuts, this has been shown in the past (Tyson, Sam) - and everytime his opponent landed the uppercut he was backing up Danny (sometimes onto the ropes).

Only thing is, its not a punch that Skelton is noted for.

Considering that Danny was there on short notice, that performance was really anyone could have expected from him. I was impressed with his weight considering the Skelton fight is still two months away. He looked good during the fight when he went on the offensive, and never really looked in trouble to me.

Danny has not looked impressive in a long time.

Looked in decent shape though.

Danny is a weird fighter. I think he constantly doubts himself. Skelton looks a decent bet to get the revenge win.

No not in trouble, but I did think "hello, what going on here" a few times. Not alarmed but a bit concerned - a little bit like Skelton in his warm up fight.

Obviously not hurt like he was vs Tyson or in the one round Harrison decided to fight (11th) but kind of like he was vs Bob Mivrovic - didn't look like he enjoyed taking those hooks.

I know this was ring rust, but I couldn't understand why Danny wanted to hold so often (even after being on the offensive) - his weight looked good but his conditioning was poor.

Danny reminds me abit of Ronnie O'Sullivan, his heads not always at right place, but when it is he can achieve great things.

Danny boy was in good shape,still to heavy really,but better that than his mind not being right,i just hope he gets his title shot against Valuve,he will stop him on cuts or KO,can`t understand where skelton figures in danny`s ideals,backward thinking,i suppose down to warren,any other fighter beating hyped up harrison and skelton would have had a world title shot by now,strange?

i love danny - he's a top bruv. but skelton wins the return...rather easily

williams looked like garbage didn't he.

he should have blasted that guy into the middle of next week really.

Hmmmmm very questionable comparison. O'sullivan is one of the best snooker players that has ever lived, Danny is barely one of the best London heavyweights that has lived.

And what 'great' things of Danny's are you referring to?

Danny is decent ia Euro level, but that is it. Beating Tyson is his best accomplishmenta nd considering McBride pasted him in his next fight begs the question what did Tyson have left? One round a fight?

Hence why I said abit I think Danny could've won one of those World ABC belts if his head was in the right place. Who's to say he couldn't have? He's definetly at Euro level. Maybe you confuse great with all time great, perhaps good would of been a better word?

Also I don't think McBride "pasted" Tyson, thought Mike was ahead on cards comfortably, just the fker is too old and quit.

i think danny has an excellent chance of beating skelton ...at snooker

at least he looked in decent shape,it looks like he's been looking after himself which is bad news for skelton if a fit stong mentally right danny turns up on the night.theres not to many fighters would take a fight at 4 days notice[with added pressure of tv audience]and do a brilliant job.

If Danny would have come in a 20 stone and fought like that and said well I have 6 weeks to drop the weight and prepare then I think I would have been happier (believe it or not)... But the fact he had been training (although not sparring) makes me more concerned. He could barely string up 5 punches without wanting to go back to the ropes or lean on.

I've made no secret that I am a Danny fan and a believer in his abilities - but I was very concerned at his stamina and strength last night.

Danny Williams should get the 1st flight to scotland and track down that the 'alky' Scott Harrison...after all,it was him pulling out that led to Danny having to take the fight...

How much pressure was put on him to fight a 'safe' opponent at short notice? As for the fight itself I thought Danny Williams looked truely awfull. Short notice or not Williams with respect sees himself as a world class Heavyweight whom is in training and yet looked terrible against a small journeyman fighter.

Where was Williams jab? Where was the fire and desire?

Williams in better shape now than the skelton fight,thou still too heavy,he needed a good 6 round workout.
why do you think ali knocked foreman out in their title fight,ali certainly wasn`t better,and if gentle george would have used his brains in a few fights before,he would have been used to going past just the first few rounds...get the ideal/,you lot make me sick,you say sprott beat williams...YOUR HAVING A LAUGH,danny took that fight so easy,won it by a mile,but pissed of the ref by not trying,so got screwed,but it was the only way tysons managment would have put tyson in with a williams,same reason harrison took the williams fight,just because williams lost to kitchco,and failed to show for the 1st skelton fight.
Can`t you see ,williams was put down6 times,BUT still was game...no other heavy around would take that punishment and still come on.
Sinal sam only beat danny cause his head was screwed,danny can box,punch,got guts,and that is more than enough to take a world title,anyone else,including skelton,or harrison would have fought for a title if they would have won those fights..so the question is...how`s screwing danny?

He even knocked him down with a jab.

Hes supposed to be a Proffesional fighter,he should alwayr be in condition.He looked two bob, end of.

danny williams is a very easy boxer to criticise because he performs so badly so often and yet...

do you think jim mcdonnell is a top coach or a poor one? sometimes i think he is excellent and at other times i think he gets it very wrong!!
