bautista is the best 19 yr old talent in world boxing.

khan in 2nd place on that one.

I think Bautista has benefited a lot from training in the US with Freddie Roach. Khan has more natural talent than him, but is improving less quickly because he hasn't been exposed to the same variety of training that Bautista has. I would also say that Bautista seems more mature in the ring as a result.

Batista's had 20 fights. Thats the difference. Chavez Jr's about 19 also, he pretty damn good imo...

have you seen JCC jr fight yet? i have several times & think is a mainly a product of the bob arum hype machine!! with only 7 pro bouts in his career, amir khan would easily outbox JCC jr IMO!!!

Chavez has big boots to fil and is being brought along very carefully.

Would be surprised if he makes it to be honest.

Had my first look at Jorge PAez Jnr the ither week and wasnt that impresssed.

Buddy McGirts son is also a pro prospect - all three will do well to get any where near their respective fathers accomplishments!

Bautista looked excellent on saturday night - certainly one to watch. Composed with a good range of punches.

He certainly wasnt bouncing around like a green pro (unlike Khan...)

Boom boom would utterly annihialate Khan in a ten rounder.

to be honest, all that bouncing around might stay with Khan through his career, much like it has with Witter's. I get the impression Khan doesn't like standing still and prefers to use his legs to get out of trouble rather than block and parry. The latter requires far better technique, but in the long term enables a fighter to reserve energy and mix it in the exchanges.

THERE ARE FIGHTERS WITH GOOD FEET/MOVEMENT, THEN THERE ARE FIGHTERS BOUNCING AROUND UNNECESSARILY LIKE kHAN.

Pernell Whitaker used loads of movement (esp early in his career) but moved as smooth as silk. Khan must burn off so much nervous energy with that 'on the balls of your feet' style. Whats gonna happen in the back end of a tough ten rounder when he is more flat footed and his 'shoe shine' combos dont flow so quick n easily?

Still alot of work to do with Boy Wonder in my eyes..

Yes, what Khan is doing now movement wise is more reminiscent of Witter and the likes of Six Heads's Lewis. Look how Witter has seemed to tire in recent contests when he was extended beyond the 6 round point and Witter hits with conviction too.

They need to try and settle Khan down, but I suspect that nervy frenetic style is hard wired into him. Pernell Whittaker was such a natural, and he would often just walk around the ring dipping the shoulder under incoming punches and pivoting to turn his man and jab him to knock him off balance. Whittaker was always in control of every movement, he knew where he was going next and what his next move was, whereas, certainly right now, Khan seems to be flitting around the ring throwing shots without much guile.

Of course, it's early days, but they need to settle him down now before bad habits creep in there.

Ive seen Chavez Jr a number of times and I was pretty impressed. He's damn good for his age. Easily one of the best prospects. He's well coached and puts his punches together really well. In a few years if he keeps improving he'll be a champion.
