All time great body punching... not punchers!

Your memories of great body punch KO's - and/or if you are lucky enough to go that far back - great body working performances pre/circa 50's (the likes of Hurricane Hank, Jack Dempsey, etc)

Some tasters:

Alexis Arguello - Royal Kobayashi (brutal left hook puts hometown hero Kobayashi rocking on his back in obvious pain)
Alexis Arguello - Andy Ganigan (brutal combo primed by a devastating right hook sends Ganigan halfway out the ring for way longer than 10)
Carlos Monzon - Gratien Tonna (right hand bang on the liver humbles hardman Tonna)
Marco Antonio Barrera - Luiz Freitas (hard punching brother of Popo looks to cry? after getting blown out inside a round by savage series of lefts from a peak Barrera)

Looking forward to hearing any obscure ones... especially pre-1960's.
One thing though, let's try for once not to let this turn into an old-timer vs. modern debate. How about we stick to the punching and punching only. :box: :TU:

Hamed delivered a liver shot to one opponent and then seemed to try to do it again in his next fight and turned in a lackluster performance as he tried to repeat his work. Can't recall the opponents though.

Robinson had a vicious right hook to the ribs. Watch him floor and massacre Jean Stock with it.

Micheal Ayres stopped Colin Dunne with a peach of a left hook to the short ribs. The pain from the shot was etched across Dunne's face.

Also Roy Jones Jr landed some wicked body punches against Clinton Woods. One of which made Clinton stamp his feet on the canvas, similar to the way that holyfield stamped his feet following having his ear bitten.

Good stuff guys. :box:

DoubleM: I think Robinson destroyed half his European tour with body shots. I recently watched a dvd I've got with a lot of those fights on it -- he setup the Hans Stretz finish with the first punch of his trademark double left; a nasty right hand flush on the short rib finished Gerhard Hecht off (though the German 'officials' named it an illegal kidney punch); Jean Walzack also got the wind taken out of him by a left shortly before being stopped. And this is apart from the Jean Stock massacre. :o

I believe it was Patterson's hook to the body that KO'd Moore.

..it's the left hook to the jaw that kayoed ezzard in such a devastation fashion....but folks in the charles camp told me that walcot had hurt ezzard early with a left to the body and that's why charles had his guard down. okay..it's not a whopper body punch kayo....but it had a lot to do with the punch that (sigh) flattened ezzard.

After Nat Fleischer passec away in 1972, The Ring Mag. came out with his top 10 pickes in 21 different department in boxing. Here's his top 3 in body punchers:

1. Joe Frazier
2. Tony Zale (remember the 3rd Zale-Graziano bout)
3. Paul Berlenbach

one that didn't really do too much visual damage but had me squirming for 12 rounds was Liakhovich's lead rights to brewster's body. I was cringing the entire fight. Lamon's probably still pissing blood from those shots.

...soon after billy conn's great stand against joe louis, he fought tony zale. he said he wanted to make it a brawl and go for a knockout....but....and these are as close as i can recall of his comments "...then zale hit me with a shot to my body and i said 'the hell with this' and started to stick and run."
