Actually I'm flexible on that if you've got someone who's being nurtured along. Doesn't matter if they've already picked up a minor strap.

This thread might be one for the small hall boys so might not get much action - let's see! Sing the praises of the boys on the undercards of your region!

He aint small hall and he aint from round my way but Martin Lindsay from Belfast impressed me in the one (brief) showing I saw of his.

He has been getting good write ups and is surely one of the best prospects in the country? (along with fellow Irish youngster Andrew Murray).

saw a kid called paul david absolutely take daniel cadman apart a week or two back, and boxing monthly rank cadman about 10 in the country at super-middle.

he's defnitely one to look out for. skilful and got a real wallop.

But Amir Khan and Andy Lee are the two best British prospects IMO.

Darren McDermott at middleweight if he is nutured along nicely, already has the midland title.

At Light-Middle Darren Barker and Gary Woolcombe (Although he is on the verge of a british title he's still a young kid)

Sam Sexton has fast hands and looks a decent prospect at heavyweight.

Best debutant I have seen this year was Andy Davis in Walsall then he got blitzed in one by Paul Appleby!!!

I like the look of Gareth Couch, not the biggest puncher, but he has some great skills.
Anthony Small , if he's as good as he thinks then he can go some way.

Patrick J Maxwell , if he fights more he could go far , heavy puncher.
Darren McDermott, has the midlands area title, beaten a couple of good boxres.
Darren Barker, looks the part to me so far.

And the good thing is all those boxers Small, Maxwell, McDermott and Barker are middleweights, so could be some great match-ups in the future

Colin McNeil: not young but he's having a go.

Craig Dickson - 14 fights so breaking the rule, but I think he can come back from the Anderson loss.

Barrie Jones - let's see how he matures.

Paul McCloskey - is 26 but is building up a solid enough record and looks to be well schooled.

Paul Appleby - one to keep one eye on.

Ryan Brawley - fast feet and hands but lacking pop, is getting the big sell though.

George McIlroy - fit, fast and dangerous. Has shown great professionalism through inactivity.

Jamie McIlroy - excellent repertoire, seems to lack his brother's power but both are schooled and a hot ticket for admirers of the Noble Art.

Steven McGuire - looks set to becoming a solid domestic pro, above Commonwealth and maybe British...? Time will tell.

Darren Barker - excellent burgeoning boxing skills, look forward to seeing him on the TV sometime.

Good calls on Barrie Jones and Darren Baker.

How is The Super Bantam/Featherweight Michael(?) Marsh looking. I was impressed early career.

Foprgot about Paul Appleby; he is a definite one to watch for me.

Based on number of fights Darren McDermott, despite being relatively older then many of the lads listed, is certainly a top talent from the Midlands, as Kevin pointed out.

It seems a bit of a shortage of prospects below light-welter, I know we have the likes of Murray, Mitchell and Khan etc, but if you look at the flywieghts we only have 2 boxers of any sort rated there, Robinson and Haskins. Its not much better at Bantam either.

One guy who will have some exciting fights in the future is Gary Buckland, don't know how far he'll get, but is entertaining.

We just dont produce many guys of that size full stop. As a nation we are growing both upwards and outwards in terms of stature... Men of 8stish are more and more a rareity.

A good one who is lurking in the amateur vest is Brummie Don Broadhurst - Commonwealth gold medalist and a fast, spiteful puncher. He will trun over in the next couple of years.

I always thought bantam Nick McDonald, although injury prone, would make a good pro as well.

Andrew Murray, James? I hear a lot of good things about him. Very poised, by all accounts.

That's the feller! Makes Khan look like a bumbling novice, although he's not facing as good competition. If he can put a bit more weight into his shots and maintain his composure, he's going to be a cracking little fighter. Doesn't look physically very strong, but that doesn't neccesarily mean much. He's fighting in Dublin soon.

agree with Terry also, regarding Alex Mat, Mark Thomson and Jono Rocco, they are all undefeated and have been in with some useful journeyman - no walk overs

Darren McDermott. Already a Midlands Area champion, and some good scalps already. The blot (draw) on his record, is unjust. He deserved the nod against Kazaz that night.

I also like the look of Gary Sykes- who was a decent amateur.

Don't be suprised if you hear big things from Khalid Saeed in a few years time. The Brummie, is a quality fighter - a world cadet champion-, and is only 16.

Under 12 fights, I would have to fo for 11-fight Rendall Munroe. He showed real promise in his first 12-rounder - his first fight past six rounds - against Andy Morris for the British title.
Kell Brook looks good; looks heavy-handed.
Rob Hunt out of Stafford is one to keep an eye on. He made his debut last week and blitzed someone in the first. He's the first Stafford pro for years and enjoys huge support.
