Here is one for the brits.
A pair of light - heavy legends in their respective era's .
Who wins this fantasy bout with both men at their prime ?
No one can dispute Andries' heart, but does the prime Conteh have to much stamina for him?

I like the rugged Andries to win by Split Dec -

Conteh would be too strong for Andries. The guy knocked out a couple heavyweights. Andries has alot of heart, but Conteh has too much power for him. Conteh by KO in about 5 or 6.

Look at what Hearns did to Andries.Contehs does it easier.

After a round or two, this would be a brutal one-sided beating.

For all his heart and tenacity, Andries did not have a great chin and his skills\defence were poor.

Dennis couldn't have coped with any of the top light-heavyweights of the 70s.

Conteh had too much skill for Dennis, late rounds stoppage for me.

Don't agree that Dennis had a poor chin, the fact that he kept getting up against Hearns speaks for itself. But Conteh had too much speed and skill and would win on points I think... but I see Andries going the distance.

Andries was as strong as an OX and had a good chin too.

But John's jab was masterful and after five or six rounds of feeding it to Andries he would then drop in the right hand.

Ref saves Dennis from further punishment in round eight.

Conventional wisdom works for me. Conteh one way or another.

Conteh by points he was just a better Boxer and his skills were a level above Andries.

Andries was a bull strong, determined fighter with a huge fighting heart and would have his moments but Conteh would just be too good.

Also I think I am right in saying both fighters started off fighting as/or against Heavyweights.

I think Conteh would get the stoppage late. Andries would be saved from further punishment.
