At age 19 and with only 12 pro fights to his name. How many have done it quicker than that?

Koki Kameda has the opportunity to really make some noise. He is one of the better prospects that I can recall seeing at such an early age and he continues to improve with each bout. His brother just recently turned pro also...he is 17 years old.

Interesting to note how many of them are Asian. It seems that they have a very different attitude when it comes to a fighter's readiness for the top level. Just a shame the list doesn't include the fighters' ages when they won the titles. I doubt many of them were as young as Kameda.

As far as age, I know Terry McGovern was 19 when he won his first world title and I think Al Singer was 19 also...then there is Wilfred Benetiz who was the younest ever to win a world title at 17...there are a few more, but not a lot have won world titles before they turned twenty.

Cuevas 18 (looked about 35). Is this Kameda any relation to the Jap who busted up Marsh and dropped Pryor?

Graham reckons Akio cut Terry to ribbons at the RAH in 87?

Yeah, Marsh fought with a horrible cut on the scalp but typically punched the resistance out of southpaw Kameda and forced the Jap to call it quits on his feet.
Marsh was so mentally strong.
Incidentally, Marsh's last scheduled fight before he claimed publicly he had epilepsy and had his licence pulled, was against an American challenger by the name of...

I remember the Kameda fight well.... Never forget it when Marsh offered him free shots to the body and was pretty much laughing at him. I think the commentators how great he was at doing sit ups.
