i hope this fight happens. warren should do what he can to woo johnson over. i mean, how many big name opponents are going to want to come over to the UK? also, i think johnson's got the perfect style for calzaghe, even if he will be hard work. AND, if johnson's taking it at relative late notice, that's a really nice advantage as i think calzaghe's been in training for a while now -and joe won't have to work as hard to get his weight down. this is a perfect fight for calzaghe & SN in every way, imo & if this doesn't happen the July 8 fight should be boycotted

I'm too embarrassed to buy the News of the Screws (if I want porn, I order it online!) - what exactly does it say???? Please let us know

I can see your point about boycoting the show but I think the undercard is worth the fee alone !!

What with the amir khan roadshow, enzo and the williams skelton rematch, Id pay the price of a ticket just for the last one i mentioned

(only in the cheap seats mind) :TU:

Run out of toilet paper this morning ... so wiped my arse with Page 73 of todays NOTW ...

just seen NotW and it doesn't make any mention of Joe, Johnson or July 8... this means either the fight hasn't happened or that it was done very, very late last night and only the last few editions of the paper had it in time

JOE'S HOME CORKER

Joe Calzaghe is set for a blockbuster of a homecoming at the Millenium Stadium.

A Cardiff showdown looms on July 8 between the unbeaten world super-middleweight champion and American Glen Johnson.

Jamaican-born Johnson, 37, is on the verge of agreeing to take a contest rejected by many others after Calzaghe's brilliant destruction of Jeff Lacy in March.

Calzaghe, 34, said: "It's great that finally somebody with an impressive record looks like stepping in to challenge me before my Welsh fans"

Johnson, based in Florida, knocked out Roy Jones in 2004 en route to becoming undisputed world light-heavyweight king.

He lost a return with Antonio Tarver and is still ranked second in the world. But Calzaghe warned: "I'll shake up his old boots!"
