Congratulations Kevin he never gave up. I really thought he was out of his depth agaisnt a guy who totally dominated most of the fight... Mutley in my opinion had his self to blame for trading in the 10th round when he was so far in front....but thats boxing

I dont really think mutt had the choice mate,

He was all used up and Kev knew it and he could either go toe to toe and try to keep his lead or be beat up.

Muttley fought a great fight but seemed to be prepared for only a 7 or maybe 8 round fight rather than a 12 rounder and thats what cost him, he was deffo losing stamina and power and with Kev being fairly quiet early on(prob due to knockdown. cant blame him really) he had plenty of fuel left in the tank to take his opponent to town.

Mutt has went up in my estimations though and Kevs heart has humbled me.

Anderson showed incredible heart. Never looked remotely like giving up. the commentators were talking about the weight advantage that Kevin had, but Muttley was taller and looked far bigger.

People on Esb are thinking it was a premature stoppage too.

Hmmmm a difficult one. Muttley was 'gone' but was trying to throw back. I think the stoppage was Ok. There was a minute or so left. Anderson is not a big puncher but still, I think he would have hurt Muttley.

The stoppage was well warrented

Mutt was being held up for about 60 seconds after the fight and he even fell on his arse again when his team let him go for a second.

His head seemed there but his legs were gone

Anderson was winning the later rounds, it was not total domination like you are making out, give Anderson some credit.

It was premature i think but you couldnt argue with the timing...My over view, Ando out his depth against a fearsome hard hitter who DOMINATED at ease... Ando NEVER gave up took his chance when he could WARRIOR....
Dont think Ando will go anywhere simply because a full blown welter who can WHACK will have a field day with him.Mutley at light welter....if he can stay strong at the weight maybe an eliminator against Nigel Wright or a srtaight challenge for Daws..... what do u think?

I think people forget that Kev has only just turned 23 and has loads of room and time for improvement
His full potential is has not been fulfilled yet and if he can come back like that I reckon he might have a future at a higher level.

He has not even reached 20 fights and he has taken no easy route throughout his career, surely that can only help him to improve.

If he keeps stepping up the opposition and winning at the pace he is now he will be well on the way to great things

daws fights a bloody hard pace for 12 rounds and comes on as the fight continues.not a good opponent for someone for someone with stamina probs.

I do think Anderson has been rushed to this point just a little too soon, like you say he is only 23 and thats 17 fights now. I think they should keep him at domestic/commonwealth level for the foreseeable future and work on his defence. If they stepped him up to Euro or World level now anyone with a decent dig at that level will take his head off. A Lonsdale belt outright would be his best aim at this point.

What a fight! What a fighter! Kevin Anderson's performance was an inspiratation. What guts he showed in there. Bravest performance of the year.

Beats Okine for the Commonwealth and now flavour of the month Mutley for the British title, and on Mutley's turf no less. Words simply fail to do justice to his effort last night, so many would have faltered but not Anderson, he just kept going and did the business. A really proud night for the youngster.

just watched that fight again and so sure that straight after ando was knocked down he caught mutley with a punch which had him down aswell but was given as a slip

plus a read on the BBBOC website that there was nothing done at all about the crowd trouble at the end of the fight

A rematch would be good.
