Fightnews.com's coverage has been poor, to say the least of the British fight scene.
Considering they have articles on every half decent Danish, German, Thai and Japanese show then what is their excuse for not giving ANY mention of the THREE big domestic showdowns which have taken place in the U.K. this week.
Not a word was mentioned on Martin Powers 8th round knockout of Isaac Ward for the British Bantamweight crown. These guys brought a combined record of 31 wins from 33 fights, no losses and 2 draws into the ring and had a highly entertaining battle before the end.
Okay but then also not a mention of Mark Hobson's off the canvas 4 round stoppage of John 'Buster' Keeton for the British/Commonwealth Cruiserweight titles in what was an excellent brawl.
The final straw though was not mentioning the Anderson-Muttley unification fight which saw a 16-0 guy fight a 19-1 opponent with 20 knockouts between them. Add to that how good and dramatic a fight it was and one wonders what fightnews.com qualify as worthy boxing news stories.
Instead they have various articles on bloddy UFC and some American girl called Kwan who is turning pro as a boxer and is related to an ice skater. FIGHTNEWS my arse!

I guy called Craig Watt delivers their UK coverage - I dunno if he is constantly putting forth work that is knocked back (unlikely), or has a low output altogether. Its a shame because its a good quick look 'results' site which has occassional decent interviews.

I noticed the omnipresent Ben Carey (is there a site he hasnt worked for! ) popped up there for a short while not long ago. Its a shame his stay wasn't longer as his has a fairly heafty turnover of articles and previews when he gets into the flow of it.

BBN is your number 1 for the British scene, by a coutry mile - stick there and you wont go far wrong.

My problem with fightnews is that it is neglecting boxing for crap which has little if anything to do with the sport. Its meant to be an international results service but is it f*ck.

Ben Carey is NOW definitely the British Editor at Boxing Talk ... he has a little team put together now and the coverage each week is getting better and better!!!

With regards to your comments concerning britboxing.net .... I have to agree ... everything you want to know is covered on that site it is very good indeed ... but with that said I wouldn't underestimate Mr Carey ... but we will see!!!

BritishBoxing.Net is a good site, and they have results on shows in pretty quickly.

Thanks for the vote of confidence lads (for those who don't know, I'm the Editor of Britishboxing.net).

Been quiet in the last week because Statto Taylor is on a well deserved holiday and I've been away for four days (managed to sneak in Tuesday's Bethnal Green show so you got the report more than a week before it will be in Boxing News ).

The work Kevin does is tremendous, how he has the time to do such a proffesional job and still contribute to various forums and other sites I'll never know.

The site absolutely rocks, I would like to see more of the BBN.TV side of things, although I could never view the free one and so wasn't prepared to pay for something and might not be able to see it.

Whilst Fightnews' British side of things is poor compared to BBN... its generally alot better than it has been of late - usually has the televised shows covered... I suppose Craig Watt is also on a break.

Thanks for the kind words Stu, it's not all me though. Ian does a great job as editor and we have a great team of writers involved.

BBN Tv is one thing I would like to add to, but it didn't really take off and cost me a lot of money first time round, more research required i guess!!

Still busy behind the scenes adding results and we are still the number one for the quickest results service for Britain.
