Can't blame McBride, he got a break and a nice payday. Good on him I say, although can't say much about the level of championship contests.

I really like Liakhovich. I'm glad he gets the chance to improve his profile and build on that hard fought win over Brewster. He'll look very good taking out the giant too.

I hope he gets a crack at Wlad. That would be very interesting.

I actually thought McBride boxed the perfect fight against Tyson. But Lyackovich ne doesn't hold the weight and strength advantages. I think Sergei grinds him down in 9 roubds.

Is this fight confirmed? What network would air this? It appears Showtime already has August 5th for the Marquez brothers and HBO seems unlikely to show that fight.

The White Wolf was looked at as a huge undeserving underdog as well.

Let's just say for the sake of argument...if McBride beats him, what would you all say the Irishman stands in the division?

he is truly terrible mate - poorly co-ordinated, no speed of hand or foot and little power. only his heart and sheer bulk helped him get passed a shell of Tyson.

..and thats coming from a second generation Irishman who would love it if Ireland had a decent big man.

I'm Irish(as in born bred and lived here all my life) but unless Lyakhovich suffers a freak accident in the ring and gets injured he will win , he is a totally different class .

Lyakovich by KO in 4.

Lyakovich is overated for beating Brewster who lacks skill but has a heart, chin and can punch. Remember he was off a year and more and his last fight before that was Guinn so he needs to show more.

Lyakovich should win inside of 4 rounds, If Mcbride leans all over him he may get past halfway, but I'm happy that McBride has got this shot as he is a likeable person who deserves a good payday.

I go for Lykavich by late stoppage. Lyakvich i think is a very good fighter. He beat Brewster pretty soundly. out-sped him and almost took him out. he also showed a good brain, when he was hurt he was sensible enough to take a knee which could of saved him taking a big punch. Lyakvich for my money could beat any of the heavyweights.

I think that everyone over rates him based solely on the Brewster performance.

Let's not forget that that he has been stopped by Maurice Harris, was down against Brewster, was pushed close by a confidence shattered Guinn and if it were not for a point deduction in his favour, he would of only drawn with Sedrick Fields. He also lacks power as any time he has stepped up in level, he has failed to put his opponent away.

I reckon the fight goes 10 rounds or more. McBride has more of a chance against Lyakhovich than he does against any of the other champions I think. Lyakhovich should still win but I don't think he'll do it as easy as evryone thinks he will and even if he gets by McBride, I reckon it will be a very short reign with the first half decent fighter taking the belt away from him.
