The Long Journey, Owen Documentary.

I am reading a book by Jeff Murphy about Johnny Owen.
First and foremost, I think that anyone who is even 0.01% of a boxing fan should harbour a heartfelt debt to Johnny Owen. Reading his story (only half of it, so far) I certainly do. This man gave the ultimate sacrifice for something all of us here love dearly - boxing was his life, and for the sake of an exciting fight his life was cut short. In my eyes he is the patron saint of boxing.
Does anyone have any idea where I can get hold of a dvd or vhs of the documentary The Long Journey?

It's a very moving but also interesting documentary. Well worth checking out. Pinto and the Owen family conduct themselves with such class in the program.

Great comments
zab, glad you're enjoying the Jeff Murphy book but there is a more in depth book out now.
The Big If by Rick Broadbent has a lot of unknown facts in it and goes into Johnny's and Pintor's backgrounds in a lot of depth. Pintor himself and Johnny's father both took part in the making of this book. Here's a link if you're interested.

Actually, I went out to buy the Big If, could not find it, only book i could find was the Jeff Murphy one. I will have to finish this now before I go for Big If again. Thanks for the link.
Now that I am further into Murphy's book, I have to say it's better than I thought it would be, and getting better.
From the perspective of someone new to the subject, it's brilliantly written, Murphy seems to be smart enough to know he's got a deeply touching story and let's it speak for itself, so to speak.
Anyway, looking forward to The Big If after this.
