I've just looked at Harrisons record and he appears to have weighed his lightest for two years. So maybe he got down to some serious training?
However with all due respect to Harrison I'm still a non-believer.

i'm still a believer....he has the skills, i know he has.....but does he have the heart & hunger?? with abit of luck he might be finding it.....hopefully..

Audley was disgraceful in his last two fights, but when you look at why it doesn't seem to be that he cannot box. He certainly has some good movement when he wants to, he also has power, but he seems continuously hesitant to unleash it. He sparkles for just a few seconds and then goes quiet as if in a trance. The question is why?
In my opinion it may partly be mental i.e. lack of commitment to the task, but this too is questionable. I think the real reason lies with conditioning. From the start of his pro career Audley would get exhausted after a couple of rounds. This is the only thing that epxlains his refusal to throw punches and is evidenced in the way he sucks up air.
Now, if he changes his training regime and gets super fit like a true athlete in addition appraising technique, I think there is every chance he can be a contender. No reason at all.

Audley Harrison's new trainer is backing the much-maligned British heavyweight to become a champion again.
The hugely-respected Buddy McGirt, who trains Antonio Tarver and Arturo Gatti, is one of the few men in boxing who believes the Sydney gold-medallist can rise again after his defeats to Danny Williams and Dominic Guinn.
Harrison started the long road back with a third-round stoppage of Andrew Greeley in Atlantic City Friday.
And McGirt believes that journey might not be as fruitless as many believe it is likely to be.
He told http://www.secondsout.com: "Audley can be heavyweight champion.
"I wouldn't be wasting my time with him if I didn't think he still had it in him.
"I was supposed to (take over) his training before but we couldn't (arrange it) but even though he's lost his last two fights I know what he has.
"He's got all the tools, his problems are mental. I can help him with that."
It was Harrison's first fight not to be televised on either side of the Atlantic and also his first outing since hooking up with new trainer McGirt.

Glad he won although not against much opposition. Having said that although the guy has a mixed record its not against the worst sort of opposition.
I think its right that McGritt wouldn't be taking him if he didn't think he had something and in sperts harision always looks good he just needs to put the spirts together and with greater fitness that should come.
Harrison does have heart I don't buy the claim that he doesn't you need only look at the 11th round against williams and his willingness to fight on the inside.

Why doen't Audley attempt to reclaim his esteemed WBF world title back? Maybe with McGirt at the helm he can salvage something from his career, he should have ditched the yes men ages ago.

Unfortunately, he's nearly 35, so it's probably too late for him.

I'm sorry McGirt or no McGirt, you cannot polish a turd, Audley just doesn't have the heart neccesary to cut it, and at 34 he ain't going to suddenly get one, unless McGirt is the wizard of Oz.
He'll be fine facing off against these palooka level guys who fall over at the first opportunity, but the next time he's in against someone who starts whacking him back, it'll be back to pawing with the jab and standing there looking menacing.

what do people make of McGritt as a trainer?
To me he seems like one of those who can get the best out of a fighter by smoving the edges which is what he did very well with gatti I don't think he is anything to blame for him loosing to Mayweather (silk perse sows ear)
