It depends on your definition of a SuperFight....I would bet money that if Woods and Johnson doesn't get signed, it's a Woods/Calzaghe fight. Hardly a "SuperFight" outside of the UK.

The "superfight" was supposed to be Calzaghe-Beyer.

But as usual Frankie Warren made unreasonable demands and now Beyer is fighting Mike Kessler.

I sincerley doubt it will be the Wright vs Taylor winner. I would assume there will be some kind of rematch clause for that fight... plus, given the DLH and Mayweather Jnr are way off in terms of negotations, I wouldn't be surprised that DLH might go for Wright if he wins.

I heard from an insider at the Newbridge club that Calzaghe wants Floyd Mayweather.

Calzaghe seems to want anyone that is smaller than him. What happened to being a 2 weight world champion and moving up to 175 that he has talked about a lot in the past? They should be trying to lure Hopkins into a fight at 175, that is a superfight not feasting on Middleweights.

Like their going to pay the money Hopkins demands, I don't think anyone will pay him the amount he'd want.

Fighting Hop won't make him a 2 weight champion though.

In the eyes of most knowledgable fans it would pretty much make him the man at 175. And if he won he'd have an all time great and hall of famer on his ledger. I'd rather see Calzaghe moving up to 175 and fighting there than fighting middleweights who are moving up. He has talked about 175 and struggling with 168 for years time to grow some balls and step up!

I am talking about stepping up in weight he has talked about 175 for years and never done it - in fact he has had bouts scheduled there only to pullout and continue at 168 it does make you wonder.... Why do his proposed superfights have to be against smaller guys? If he's good enough which we know he is why not move up and fight at 175? Not double standards at all, but Calzaghe has talked about 175 for about 5 years and done nothing other than pull out of fights scheduled at that weight. His words were something along the lines of "its my dream to retire a 2 weight world champion".

Now Pundit I'm afraid you are talking out yer arse here mate. Calzaghe has long documented problems with his hands, wrists and elbows, going back MANY years. Warren himself said some time ago that Calzaghe only had 2-3 fights left in him because of all the breakdowns in training.

Kessler is getting injured but he's not pulling out of many fights. Calzaghe is king of the pullouts, there isn't a fighter around who has pulled out of more fights than Calzaghe over the last decade. God knows how many I couldn't even begin to guess.

Better than arranging fights and then pulling out fornicating people around left right and centre. A lot of fighters might be sceptical about fighting Calzaghe as they cant guarantee they'll actually get a fight and a payday at the end of 2-3 months training they have to pay for.
