I think Lacy beats Tarver. For all his shortcomings Calzaghe exposed he is fit and busy, Tarver on the other hand can only fight in little spurts.

I agree Nick, Calzaghe had to work for every minute of every round against Lacy and Tarver isn't capable of doing that. Lacy also proved himself to have a good beard on him in the Calzaghe fight so I see him getting on the inside regually enough to stop a beaten up Tarver in 7.

Not a bad fight considering both are coming off defeats.

Although i'm not keen on Lacy moving up to light heavy if he can still make super middle well enough. If he can I would much rather see him gun for Kessler or Beyer, if they don't fight each other that is.

I would still pick Lacy to dispose of Beyer. Depending on how much the Calzaghe fight took out of Lacy that is, which doesn't have an answer right now. Beyer looks set to go these days.

Glad Lacy isn'tgoing to fight Beyer as their would be no point in Calzaghe taking his belt then.

Lacy would beat Tarver and Beyer (now) IMO.

Can count on a fellow Welsh man to speak some sense.

It takes a strong man to meet Lacy head on, and tame him. Reid couldn't, and I doubt VERY much that Beyer, or Tarver could.

Prime Reid who wasn't just their for the money would of took him.

Robin Reid is the most overated fighter in British boxing, well between him and Herbie Hide.

Yes, I scored the Reid vs Calzaghe fight to Reid, but alot of fighters could have beaten that version of Joe - he hadn't sparred due to hand injuries and suffered food poisioning FFS. Yet it was still close.

No, I'm not a huge fan of Joe's - I haven't like the amount of "challenges" he has faced during his nine year reign and I don't associate him as Welsh to be honest, but Lacy showed a damn good chin in March if nothing else and has good power. He will outwork Tarver and would KO this mid 30's version of Beyer, he would get outboxed vs Kessler.

I agree with that - Lacy would have too much for a bone idle Tarver. I've never been convinced with the legacy of Tarver and being humbled by a 41 year old ex-middleweight tells us more of where Tarver is really at.

I'm sure Oktay Urkal is a fantastic follow up fight for one of the top British fighters after a terrible performance in their "Invasion"

Spot on. Reid won the title impressively over in Italy but his first defence was against a Light Middleweight! He beat Wharton in a good fight, then struggled with a Middleweight Cherifi and was then beaten by Malinga who was in his 40s at the time. Thats it for his title reign!

His record is littered witth poor performances, and it's true that his stand out fights are the win over Nardiello, and the loss to Calzaghe.

He never did live up to the potential he showed as an amateur.

Let's not forget the death of Princess Diana did affect his performance vs Cherifi

I would say the Sven Ottke performance was up there among his best and probably the one he deserves the most respect for - but given the standard of fighter he was beating before that, you cannot blame Ottke for taking him a tad lightly - some Ottke often did (he was struggling vs Joe Gatti before getting to him). I actually scored Reid vs an ancient Julio Cesar Vasquez a draw.

I enjoyed his fight with Wharton, and I thought he was going to go from there and be a good champion, but really it stopped there. An MD decision victory over a past his prime Wharton should have been the clear signal that he wouldn't reign for long.

Most of the Kudos I feel towards Reid probably comes from the fact that he's the hard as nails, and a pornstar. Fighting and shagging...... Living the dream!!!!

He has got a cast iron chin too, which deserves respect!! Although Lacy smashed him, he was never concussed or wobbled, he just couldn't handle Lacy's power.
