I thought Dodson was excellent on Friday night, I'd really like to see this fight come off now. Dodson may feel like he needs more rounds before taking the fight but I think he could beat Froch now. I'd certainly have a flutter on him if the fight happens.

I thought Dodson looked good although he did take a few too many whacks back. He would obviously start as underdog against Froch and I think Froch would beat him, but he is certainly capable of giving a Magee like effort.

I'd like to see him have one or two more fights before that though.

I think the fight should happen now, if Dodson chooses to wait he may miss his chance. Now he has won the Lonsdale belt outright how long will Froch be around at domestic level?

Good point. After two fights Froch might be long gone from the domestic scene.

And with Dodson's bad luck you never know.

Dodson did look good on Friday, but i wouldn't put him in with Froch straight away, Dodson still needs a couple more fights at a level above Hearn before taking on the likes of Froch.

I'd like Dodson to be taken into the later rounds of a 10 rounder first, as he always seems to drift and lose focus and confidence in a longer fight, I'd need to see him come through those rounds and win over a good level boxer first.

I'd still like to see him have a few more fights though and go for the British. His whole career shouldn't revolve around a Froch fight really. Hopefully Froch will get knocked back to domestic level

I'd love to see Dodson beat him after the way Froch has gobbed off about him in the past.

If he beats Froch then he gains a fan in me.

In fairness to Froch, Dodson has gobbed off just as much and failed to materialise come fight time, for one injury or another.

I wouldn't give Dodson much chance should they meet frankly.

You might not have to be a future hall of famer to beat Froch but it'll take considerably more than what Dodson has IMO.

Froch has worked the press and public well, he has as many people tuning into his fights hoping to see him lose , as he does fans hoping to see him win.

Either way he has backed up his words so far, and outside of the top 5 or 6 supermiddles i'd give him a good chance to beat any of the others.
Another couple of good learning fights and Froch will be ready for the top men in the division

Remember watching the SKY PPV for Hatton - Callazo and on the Woods undercard there was this Serbian fighter based in Liverpool and he was getting whooped until he sparked the guy right out! That was funny that!

Other than that we seem to do well with Amatuers.

Firstly, Froch has not won the Londsdale belt outright and although the talk is of Carl challenging for the European crown, I suspect he would like the British title for keeps. With Dodson back on form and English champion, he fits the bill perfectly.

It's a good match, but Froch is going to disappoint those wanting to see him beaten. Carl may well get tagged more than he should, but he'll still beat Dodson, and beat him emphatically.

Froch has won my respect over the last couple of fights, he's taken on good quality opponents , and after a few sticky moments won through , he showed what champions are made of.

Froch convinced me he was for real when beating Adamu.

Sorry my mistake, I thought he'd defended the required four times you are indeed correct. Surely the board will make Dodson the next mandatory challenger.

I think the fight is Dodson's if he wants it. Proberbly doesn't hold much fear for Froch. My mate recons he heard him talking to his mates about wanting the fight on a bus in liverpool although Im not convinced.

I'd love to see a Scouser beat Frochs arse.

Thing Is I don't have Sky Sports but have telewest only to root a hometown fighter on!

I had Froch in a handy lead against Magee, before he put Magee's lights out. Can't remember how the official judges had it, but I seem to recall they had Carl ahead too.

The Hennessy stable is on fire at the moment with Froch edging close to world class, Daws and Meager winning British titles is style, Billy Corcoran soon to challenge for the British title soon, John O'Donnell closing in on an English title and Darren Barker trying to get a British title eliminater.

Funny, but I seem to recall a certain Sportsnetwork-attached poster boldly telling us that it was all over at Hennessy Sports.

Two World class fighters don't make them on fire. :P

I doubt Froch will be World but he is Euro class.
