Considering that leonard's great win over Tommy is often quoted as proof of his greatness why isn't Napoles' win over Griffith (arguable a better fighter than Hearns) ever peddled out...

It's quite rare that ATG's square off against one another when both are close enough to their primes for the fight to menaingful.

What are the good members at BoxRec's thought...?

The consensus on the bout is that Griffith was very weight drained and thus the fight isn't a good indication of what would have happened had both been at their best.

Griffith remained an elite middleweight until the mid-'70s, but at this point he was simply not a Welter anymore.

Has Emile ever spoken abut the fight in an interview?
