What's with all this McDonagh love lately? His biggest win was so controversial that many called it a fix.

Ya but those Allegations have proven to be unfounded and Gomez simply quit . I myself called fix at the time , but now I think differently .
Gomez came out with the intent of stopping McDonagh and for 3 rounds hammered away at peter who covered up well and took the shots and would reply with punches of his own . Gomez seemed to ease up a bit in the 4th but still kept working and was hitting Peter with everything he got but he was finding in impossible to catch McDonagh bang clean on the chin landing some vicious power shots and connecting to the head a lot but couldn't catch him where he could really hurt him .
I had Gomez 4 rounds up but the first was competitive . In the 5th it finally came to Gomez how durable McDonagh was and he didn't seem to fancy going the full 10(whether his stamina was fucked by then or he just didn't want it I don't know) and after backing Peter up and half catching him a few times as he done so much earlier he turned around with his hands down . McDonagh proceded to hit him 10 times cleanly before Gomez went down(and it seemed he could have stayed up if he wanted but needed an excuse to go down) . I'm not sure the ref waived it off when Gomez was on the ground or after he got up but he waived it off anyway and that was it .
So what I have learned from that is Romanov will not stop McDonagh he is far too durable , but should win nearly every round . McDonagh will keep the same pace up for the full 8 rounds and will through a good bit but he doesn't have that great a workrate . He has no power whatsoever , he only has two stoppages , one where an opponent retired with a back injury and the other was the Gomez fight where even a McDonagh who was looking to go down needed clean punches before he decided he would , Gomez seemed midly uncomfortable with being hit by McDonagh but in no way hurt or even slightly stunned .
With proper training time for a fight and with plenty of confidence McDonagh will be a lot better than usual but he is no where near Romanov's level .

I reckon Romanov stops him, unless Uri Geller is in McDonaghs corner again, in which case Romanov will get messed up. "How can you doubt this man, he can bend spoons!"
