Perhaps Mr Warren should concentrate on sending his minor minions out to help make the promotion a success otherwise he might find his little revenge raid is a pretty costly bit of Machieviallian indulgence.

Waterman has used his cash to pay his crditors of. Sky haven't given any dates to Fight Academy whatsoever and will only work with them on Hatton dates.

Good move by Sports Network in all reality, I'm sure Glen Johnson has been a little pissed off with the injuries of Joe and the number of times a proposed fight has been cancelled..... I'm sure, he will be pleased that he is getting a decent payday for a mandatory challenge and I'm sure will be greatful to all the parties involved in the purse bids.

Obviously Sports Network are very confident that Johnson still has it in him to beat Woods, cause if Woods does win this move might have set a devide between SN and FA that means a Calzaghe vs Woods fight will never happen.

Of course, Glen won't be a bad fight for Joe win/lose or draw vs Woods - but it won't be a particularly good one if he loses.

Incidently, BC - might be too early to say I know, but will the fight be broadcast on ITV? It will be very good to see?

Warriors Boxing and Sports Network teamed up to win the Clinton Woods vs. Glenn Johnson light heavyweight title purse bid with a bid of $505,000. Fight Academy bid $457,000. No site named for that one yet, but it is expected the fight will be held at the Seminole Hard Rock LIVE Arena in Hollywood, Florida. Under the banner of Warriors Boxing in association with Sports Network, whose chief allegedly is the bitter rival of Woods' promoter Dennis Hobson. A jubilant Warren said today, "I'm happy to have won this fight and to cement my relationship with Warrior Boxing and Glen Johnson. Clinton's promoter may have won if he had the faith in his own fighter that his recent offer of a bet suggested. I'm sure Clinton will be disappointed that he will have to put his title on the line against a guy he has yet to beat on two occasions in his hometown and for 50% of what he was offered to fight Joe Calzaghe here in Britain."


Incidently, on a seperate purse bids - Warriors boxing just failed (on their own) to win the bids for Miranda vs Abraham... This bout is now confirmed for Germany on September 2nd. It might have been nice if SN would have "helped" out here and made a cracking undercard for Woods vs Johnson..... Who knows, maybe it could have given the "leverage" for the Lockett vs Rhodes winner to fight Miranda (if he beat Abraham). Although, naturally you don't expect anyone to be handing out $50,000 willy nilly - so didn't expect it to happen.

What exactly did he fail to get Calzaghe? It was Calzaghe being injured not Warren not being able to get a fight.

if the fight takes place in the USA, on USTV and with a site fee and with ITV showing it it to his fans in the UK how on earth will it lose money?

It would lose money on PPV with his following for sure but not on ITV.

Ben Rabbah is not with SN and never has been. He is with a close associate but not with SN. On ITV? Possibly, probably.

As for the comment about SN looking after there own fighters, they have, GJ and WB have a joint deal. It's FA who haven't looked after THEIR fighter for a measly $50k CW may well lose a decision in the USA and then what they gonna do? No Woods, no TV Dates (Sky won't give them any other tha for Hatton) and Hatton getting homesick and restless too too..........

Multi Million pound bid....more BS from FA whom incidentally, had they won the bid could not have put it on in the UK anyway because they hold no licence, as FA, in the UK and therefore would have invalidated their own bid if no licence was granted. Another silly error that would have seen poor old Clinton Woods getting rumped once again.

What a smart move Hatton has made joining this outfit. Still he wanted to fight in the US so next time there's a PO that's about all these fools can guarantee him!

Just think, one phone call from Clinton and all could be sorted for HIM.

I agree MW, FW is making a loss, and one that he can afford.

Doubt Hobson/Waterman can afford it, particularly when they cant pay Hatton his full whack.

Most of the Warrior boxing stuff has been on PPV, so I assume Warren will get a percentage of this aswell.

I have little doubt that your second paragraph is correct, not sure it will be admitted on here - but I'd be very surprised that Joe won't be next in line for Johnson.
