Yesterday was the 18th anniversary of Mike Tyson vs Michael Spinks. So, I stuck a DVD in and watched the fight last night. There are those that will always claim Spinks so intimidated, ferarful etc, but man, Tyson performed so well in the fight.

Anyway, where were you when Tyson-Spinks took place, did you watch the fight, woh was you picking to win, what pattern did you think the fight would take?

Last of all, did anyone of you predict a 1st round KO for Tyson? I doubt it, but maybe somone did?

I cannot believe it's 18 years ago. It seems like not too long ago, Mike was 'the man', but at the same time, it feels eons ago that he was ripping up the HW division. :box:

I love the look on Spinks' face before the fight, no eye contact or very little of it that is. I have Tyson's career on DVD and that fight was sweet while it lasted.

I remember that I had to get up for school the next day and I had the TV turned down so my folks wouldn't hear me. I was about 13 and it was roughly 4am UK time. I had I think a KO poster of Tyson-Spinks and when Spinks got flattened I was so pissed off with his effort and that I was going to school on 2 hours sleep I spat on his face on the poster.(what a rebel)

I think even now Spinks conned the public. He was being paid serious money, I know Tyson was awesome but Spinks just rolled over, showed no passion whatsoever.

yeah, it was a major dissappointment, Spinks had something of a legacy as a LHW, compounded it by being the first bloke to beat Holmes and then just threw it away in the Tyson fight. Crock 'o' crap!
