I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Its another SN mammoth ‘bumper’ card but who has the stamina for 15 fights??!

Out of that lot only Rhodes-Lockett, MACCARINELLI v DOMINGUEZ, DANNY WILLIAMS vs. MATT SKELTON. GAVIN REES vs. MARTIN WATSON hold any real interest for me. (maybe the Price fight too – he usually is involved in belters!)

The majority of the rest are routine run outs for SN prospects and attempts to use ticket seller like Doherty and Mitchell to swell the numbers in attendance. The journos who sit it thru and report on all 15 matches shud be given medals the size of dinner plates! (aside from BN and BBN will there be anyone who covers all 15? I doubt it…)

A stint from 3.30 in the afternoon til probably something like midnight or just after is hard going.

I actually agree with you 100%

It's a HUGE bill, but it does not have a lot of good fights on it.

A bill of that size, and the best fights we are talking about are LOCKETT vs. RHODES, DANNY WILLIAMS vs. MATT SKELTON, & GAVIN REES vs. MARTIN WATSON.

That's not terribly impressive, but I'm not going to argue.

They are still exciting enough for me, and they are all on the same night instead of spread out over 4-5 individual evenings on Skysports.




p.s.... That's right, I will be armchair watching this weekend! ;)

im not going not enough good fights on imo.
you could do with having 2 reporting then one can do half then the other can take over.

It reminds me of the Don King bills in the States that start at 2pm!

Sadly, i've looked at the shedule on Sky+ for the coverage of the show:

9:30 - 11pm - ITV1: Khan-Bain & Williams-Skelton.

We won't get too see: Rhodes-Lockett, Rees-Watson.

Sad really, why can't they put some other fights on ITV4, like they have done in the past.

As soon as the Calzaghe fight was cancelled i lost interest. It's a fair bill. One thing that really get s my goat though is that they charge a booking fee and a postage fee (Best part of a tenner per ticket) so a £30 ticket costs £40 heck i live in Cardiff and would be more than happy to call into the stadium and pick up the tickets.

You are not wrong - I ordered I think 12 tickets for the Hatton-Tszyu bill and was stung with a huge handling and P&P bill, which I had to recover thru charging my mates in excess of face value.

Its just another way they suck those last few quid out of punters!

I hope that ITV are going to change this - the best bill they have had (lets not forget the WBO interim title fight) and they've even cut it down to an 1 1/2 hour show.

Edit: The schedule on the ITV website is saying it will show the 2 "World" title fights, and the two mentioned by Tom. It seems fairly up to date cause it has Khan and Maccrinelli's opponents down.

I don't see why they can't put the rest of the bill on ITV4?

I can't imagine ITV4 will get an awful lot of viewers on a Saturday night watching re-runs of Emmerdale farm!

I presume that would be Maccarenilli V Dominguez and Locket v Rhodes then ? .

Unfortunatly that would mean we will miss Watson v Rees , aswell as Pryce v Matumla and of course all the prospects+M'baye's fights but none of them look too great . I'm sure we will get to see all of those fights in the great 'round up' that ITV do .

Perhaps the people at ITV are relying on Gary to Knock Rhodes the fcuk out early!! I know I am, GO ROCKETT

Couldn't Warren even get M'Baye a WBA title shot on this bill? Looks like M'Baye made a mistake signing with Warren, Warren only wanted him as as a bargaining chip.

They're putting that piss-ant bill on at the Millenium stadium? They're expecting to find 80,000 people who'll want to pay to see that dross? Maccereneli and Khan are the only fighters worth turning a TV on for, never mind laying out to go to a stadium show.

They were hoping for around 30,000-35,000 with Calzaghe v Johnson on it but since that is gone I'd say something from 15,000-20,000 .

Williams v Skelton(commonwelath title)-that will have sold tickets well

Amir Khan v Colin Bain-Khan has quite a few fans and is a huge prospect , so quite a few ticket sales from him .

Maccarenilli v Dominguez(WBO interim title)-good fight for a sort of important title and with Macc being Wales' second biggest fighter that will have sold plenty of tickets(especially since Enzo's last fight was a cracker)

Bradley Pryce v Matumla(commonwealth title)-Pryce is welsh plus it's a title fight=some more ticket sales .

Lockett v Rhodes(WBU title)-good fight , Rhodes is well known and Lockett is Welsh plus the favourite=more ticket sales

Rees v Watson(Celtic title)-another good fight , Rees is Welsh=more ticket sales(even though the fight may be off)

+ Tony Doherty , Kevin Micthell , Stephen Foster , Ross Minter all well known prospects who will bring a bit of a fan base .

Souleymane M'baye-I doubt he'll bring in much fans but he is a very good fighter .

Barrie Jones , Kerry Hope , Nathan Cleverly-all Welsh prospects that should bring in some fans .

Matthew Hall-prospect won't bring too many fans

Steve Anning-Welsh but has a record of 0-1-1 , must have some sort of fanbase otherwise he wouldn't be on the card .

With the amount of Welsh fighters and some good fights + some well known prospects thrown in I think ticket sales should be fairly good .
