I think Naz punched very very hard at the weight, so much so that he didn't bother to continue to learn his craft. He simply believed in his own hype and his punching power. This was good enough in most cases.

Barrera was/is a great fighter, who is mentally strong and who has honed his skills. He simply had too many moves for Naz who looked one-demsional in their fight. Naz was a beat behind the pace simply becuase he'd never been in with anyone so skilled before.

I was disappointed in his performance becase I thought he'd really go for the KO in the last few rounds but alas he just went out with a whimper.

I think this fight had a double meaning for me. I never rated Hamed and always thought his punching power was overrated as he was knocking out bums. As soon as he faced a quality fighter he looked very ordinary. Marco barely broke sweat and had so much more to offer, but didn't need to. On the other hand at least Naz proved he could take a good beating, he showed he had courage, a chin and the will to survive

thanks for posting that it was brilliant to see that fight again.
reminds me why i like barrera so much. is it just me or does he remind anyone else of a little joe louis?
the barrera of that night could have matched it with any featherweight ever
