Lockett-Rhodes SPOILER

Lockett won an asbsolutely disgraceful decison. Rhodes put him down in the 10th and almost stopped him. What the heck is wrong with these judges?

Thats a shocker... I dont really rate Lockett but thought he had the punch to beat Ryan.... big shame for Ryan if he's got robbed, he waited a long time for this fight...

Look forward to seeing this on Monday.Obviously, I'd have liked to have seen it tonight of course, but I can understand why ITV had to delay it, what with 6 hours of 'Quizmania' being such a ratings draw..........

I did say that I felt Lockett wasn't quite the monster puncher some say he is, and that Rhodes may well bust him up late on, and win a close but clear decision, so it'll be interesting to score this one myself.

I just hope they show the fight whole on Monday, somehow I doubt it - already saying highlights next to the show!

I'm definately interested in seeing this fight - the scoring was quite wide in Lockett's favour.

Yes, I fear we'll get about 4 rounds, plus another look at Khan, and lowlights of Skelton Williams. I think the main focus of the show is going to be Maccarinelli's fight.

I thought that about the scoring as well. 117-111 seems very wide for a fight that people are calling controversial/a robbery.

Maybe any board members who went to Cardiff can fill in a few details?

ITV'S coverage is rather frustrating to say the least, I would have liked to have seen the Enzo fight in full too rather than 3 minutes of it... instaed we have 30 minutes of Khans latest walk over... is it just me who is tiring of seeing Amir beating up guys divisions below him!!?... not to mention having to listen to the constant hype!.... how many years are we going to have to swallo all this?...

Well at least your getting free coverage and not having it as part of your 40 pound a month Sky Digital packages.

The scandinavian commentators didnt have any problems with the Lockett win, they said he deserved it.

Lockett was given a disgraceful decision against Monaghan too.

Shocker!!!!!! I've yet to see the fight, or speak to Gary. It seems by the scoring that it was an official knockdown, but it also shows by the scoring (by good officials) that Gary was well ahead. 8 rounds to 4.

Sounds like another tough nights work.

Very suprised Rhodes stayed on his feet, must have fought well.

Well done though, Lockett got the W. :TU:

i hate to crow but i said last week that lockett is massively overrated and i think this shows it. he was, by all accounts, in a very tough fight with a fighter who is probably eight years past his best. he was floored and apparently close to being stopped. lockett's own promoters said on their radio coverage that rhodes had won. rhodes took lockett's best shots and and was never shaken.

people on here said that rhodes was 'chinny' and lockett a great banger. well, one of those claims can't be true ...

This result tells us that one of two things has happened...
1. Ryan has suddenly grown an iron chin...
2. Locketts not half the puncher that he's supposed to be...
I'm hanging my chin out here as I havent seen the fight but really with respect to Ryan this is a very poor result for Lockett... and shows that aside from a fairly decent dig at a certain level he's got little else... as for it being a title fight don't insult my intelligence...

Could be a combination of both, Rhodes' chin being underated a tad... Lockett's power being overated a tad.

Ryan took some clean shots vs Otis Grant, who wasn't a big puncher but were still clean shots.

Luckily for me i said all along that Rhodes would surprise everyone here!!!!!

Not,

I thought that Lockett would KO him early, was completly wrong there.

Nearly every fight I've seen of Ryan he seems very uncomfortable when he's tagged... I find it hard to believe that he went the 12 unless he basically boxed Locketts ears off which is possible because Ryan has some good skills...

I'm VERY suprised!!

Rhodes is obviously tougher, and a hell of a lot better then anyone gave him credit for. Sounds like he caught Gary in the 10th with a beauty right hand counter!!

I think it pertinant to reserve judgement of the decision till we actually see the fight. The cards seem quite wide, even with the knockdown.

I really wanted him to win to say i had fought a 'world champion twice' :TU:

Lockett won fairly easily. Rhodes didn't do enough, even after he had Lockett there for the taking after the late knockdown.
Rhodes had been down himself in the first.

Ryan will never ever get out of being cocky, he could of stopped Lockett EASY in my eyes in that 10th
