Yeah, not sure how good it looks personally. Not sure why they chose Antonio Tarver - surely they could've found a boxer more famous and who looks more imposing...Holyfield or someone. Mind you he'd be a terrible actor, you can be sure of that.


One thing is certain - Stallone looks terrible.... like a wet paper bag full of walnuts... I am surprised he is able to move any of his face considerig the amount of Botox squirted in it.

He needs to learn to grow old gracefully...

Plyometric pressups are excellent workouts, even with modern training methods that sort of explosive exercise has to be good for fighters to develop power. In fact there are several plyometric exercises I would recommend to anyone in boxing or combat sports.

They should have used Sly's mum Jackie as the villain. Far more scarier than Antonio Tarver.

Lord help me, i got a little excited watching that trailer.

For a moment it was like being 12 all over again.

I may regret it but i'll definately be going to see it.

I think most boxing fans will check it out, from the trailer its obvious its already better than Rocky V. ;)

Rocky V was a criminally underated film IMO. Most people I talk to either think its excellent or the absolute pits.

Yes, the ending wasn't great or realistic (like how can a man with very little training in weeks beat a good champion) and the rate his son grows in months is frightening... but continuity problems were rife in all the Rocky films if you notice. Stallone does seem to get mixed up sometimes between weather the Rockies follow on, or weather they actually take place the year the film was made and some glearing date problems happen.

However, story line wise its pretty good, and Stallone I thought did a great job in acting.

I do think it doesn't fit well as as part of the 5 films, but if it was just 1, 2 and 5 - I think that would have been a great trilogy.

3 and 4 are pure cheese, fun but cheese.

I used to be able to do those press ups where you clap your hands in between, I think i'd just end up smashing my face if I tried it now.

I thought another Rocky film would be a total embarrassment but, and I can't believe I'm saying this, that trailer is actually pretty good !

I think half of it is just for nostalgias sake, I can pretend I'm a teenager again sitting watching Rocky do his stuff.

I going to see Superman on Saturday for heavens sake! Just need to break out in spots and get my virginity back and it'll be the 80's again!

The thing that ruins Rocky 5 is the son sub plot, it is like a TV movie - just an excuse to get his own real life son involved. The rest of the film isn't bad, but I just cringe whenever this plotline rears its head.

I hate to be the voice of negativeity here but I just can't swallo the idea of this latest Rocky movie... I mean he was supposed to be halfblind by the second film, shot to bits by the third, and brain damaged by the 5th... I mean come on, now he's pushing 60 and is going to do it all again?. It would have been far more realistic to have had stallone play a braindamaged and broke Rocky training a fighter to his old title... far more realistic... the first 3 rockys were classics I think, its really a shame that the last three have stretched credibility further and further....
Having said all that, I've no doubt that I'll be going to see number 6 still!!... :x 8)

Should've made it a comedy, maybe Audley could've had a part as well. A decent looking trailer probably just means they've hired a top notch production house to put together something that looks half decent in short form.

The biggest Turkey in history can look like the dogs bollox with a good trailer fronting it.

I wonder how this will play out at 2 hours plus - Sly will be dragging the old boxing cliches out feet first!

Talk about cheese on toast!!!... Rambo was a very good film, up there with Rocky1 and 2 but the sequels have basically been embarrasing imo...
The shame of it is that I think Stallone can do far better than this...
