was just watching Harry Simon v Armand Krajnk, as I'm upgrading it from vhs to DVD. Around that time, when Simon was holding the WBO middleweight belt, there was talk of him fighting Calzaghe. Who would've won this battle between super-fit, top class boxers?

Calzaghe was by far the naturally bigger man, Simon started at Light Middle. Don't think I've ever seen Simon fight, but his record speaks for itself, an absolute destroyer, but Calzaghe has always liked guys who came to him. Without seeing Simon in action, have to favour Calzaghe as the bigger more versatile man.

Always admired Simon, apart from his driving, a real quality operator, but Joe's workrate would have outgunned him over 12 rounds, not to mention size advantage. Plus Harry wouldn't have been able to dent the Calzaghe chin either.

Harry Simon was a quite small light middle. He never looked as good when he went to middle. He had some cracking wins over Wayne Alexander and Kevin Lueshing. But he was a pint sized, moderate hitting middle in spite of his fitness & workrate. Calzaghe would eat him alive. Good fighter, though, was Simon.

Simon would have been two small for Joe - but Simon vs Hopkins would have been interesting.
