Anderson turns Pro

Good news for scottish fans 2006 Commonwealth Games light-heavyweight gold medal winner Kenny Anderson is turning pro, he will be fighting in the Supermiddle division.
Kenny will be managed by Glasgow manager Barry Hughes , who is looking to bring Kenny along the right way.
I'm excited by Kenny, he looked powerful when boxing at the Games, and has a pro style.
I'm sure he'll get loads of support north of the border

Anderson, 23, flanked by former WBO world super-middleweight champions, Irishman Steve Collins and England's Nigel Benn, said: "Absolutely no disrespect to anyone else but I know I have the heart, the ring skills and the backing of top boxing coach Peter Harrison, all of which will help me become the first Scot to win the British super-middleweight crown. My new manager Barry Hughes has also put in place a deal that means I have no money worries concerning my wife and three kids.
"All I will do is train, spar and fight. With excellent advice on tap from Steve and Nigel.
I am also comfortable fighting at super-middleweight where I will be even stronger than I was at light- heavyweight."

Yes, saw this yesterday. Very good news and best of luck to him. Showed a good mentality during the comms, particularly the final.

He looked a very good fighter to me during the games and definetly has a pro style . I'm sure help from Steve Collins and Nigel Benn won't hurt either .

His march to the title in the Commonwealth games was fantastic. His battle in, I think, the final was an epic that would have made 'Braveheart' proud.
He will certainly make an exciting pro!

They had Steve Wilson, (was beaten by a young Calzaghe) who looked a good prospect for a time, (Although admitedly not a banger)
Also Steve McGuire isn't a banger but is a decent fellar in that weight range at the moment.
Cant remember the last bigish fighter from north of the border who could crack like Anderson can..

Does seem to be that way, for some reason Scotland hasn't produced that many Big punchers in the higher weight divisions
