I have until now, seen a topic concerning the great heroic rounds that boxing has ever witnessed. When I speak of heroic rounds, I am implying to the “beyond belief” rounds that will by no means be elapsed. Let’s take notice of these mind-blowing 3 minutes of time...

Jack Dempsey vs. Jess Willard for the Heavyweight Championship in 1919. I think everyone knows about the famous 1st round.

"Sugar" Ray Robinson vs. Jake LaMotta for the Middleweight Championship in 1951. Known as the St. Valentines Day Massacre, Round 13 will never be forgotten.

These are only two of some epic rounds, let's hear more.

Foreman/Moorer-1994 the 10th

Didn't look like a tremendous two punch combination, but Foreman stopped Moorer dead in his tracks after 9 one-sided rounds. Truly one of the most memorable rounds in history.

The 76th round of Sullivan vs Jake Kilrain.

Kilrain could hardly lift up his head, and though he went to the line ready for the round, his corner threw in the hat. The final bare-knuckle championship bout had taken place, the bare-knuckle era was over.

Sullivan was carried out of the ring by his fans, his hands swollen twice their size and his ears puffed and swollen. He would later gain recognition as the first Heavyweight champion under the Marquis of Queensbury rules, where he would reign for an addittional 8 years, before being stopped by Gentleman Jim Corbett in the 21st round.

Whether it be the 21st round against Corbett or the 76th round against Kilrain...boxing's link between the gloved and the fist eras was finished.

It was awfully close...Earnie could have ended it in the 2nd round, but Ali played it off like he wasn't hurt and that confused Earnie...two of the score cards were for Ali one was for Earnie.

Gift decision? Maybe. Jimmy Young in my opinion beat Ali, but didn't get the dice, so it's possible.

Yes, Young should have won by a wide margin. Terrible decision.

You also can't win a fight by NOT THROWING ANY PUNCHES. Have you even seen this fight? Watch this fight young man, in it's entirety, and pay attention. Score each round on it's own merit and then tally your score at the end.

Ali could not have possibly have won ANY of the first half of the fight, as he did NO fighting. While Young didn't do a whole lot, he was the only one throwing punches in the double digits, and just about the only one landing any punches. Young did lose the last few rounds when Ali realized that he had given away the fight, but the judges found a way to keep the title around his waist.

Young-Ali was a horrible decision.

Could have gone either way, would have served Ali right if it would have gone the other way, since we expected more from him. But it was not a robbery just a close fight that happened to have gone his way in the judges eyes on that night. A draw would have been fine as well.

But it was far from a robbery. Unless you want to argue that to give the fight to either of them was a robbery. On second thought maybe it was a robbery....for the fans who paid to see it.

Yes, that I agree with. Since I watched it on TV I didn't feel quite so shafted. But then again, most of Ali's later fights were less than enthralling.
