Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I think Calzaghe got £1,000,000 for his fight with Lacy .jamesmcdonnell wrote:that's interesting, isn't that more than he got for the Lacy fight, I seem to recall he took a pay cut for that one?
Is Hobson trying to tempt Joe away? I doubt it would work, Joe has shown no desire whatsoever to leave Warren, and is very near the end of his career.

Wonder what the undercard will be like, seeing as Warren won the bids, i suppose it'll be SN boxers

You sentimental old bugger!stujones wrote:Boxing chat, Does Mr Warren know the date and time that purse bids Urkal vs Hatton takes place.
That could be very intriguing. I'm not sure how long Hatton's deal is with FA but if Warren won bids and did a good promotion at the M.E.N, then Hatton might start to think about the good times he had with Frank.

I doubt Warren could win a purse bid against FA/Sky Box Office and still make money. Is there really that much money to play with putting it on at the MEN with ITV money? Not too sure about that. Sky are backing Hatton heavily.stujones wrote:Boxing chat, Does Mr Warren know the date and time that purse bids Urkal vs Hatton takes place.

Whoever wins though, it might be more profitable to stick it on ITV than SKy though as how many will really fork out 15 quid for this?nickd wrote:I doubt Warren could win a purse bid against FA/Sky Box Office and still make money. There is more money to Hatton having it on Box Office as opposed to ITV, hence the split from Warren in the first place.Max Molyneux wrote:Whoever wins though, it might be more profitable to stick it on ITV than SKy though as how many will really fork out 15 quid for this?nickd wrote:I doubt Warren could win a purse bid against FA/Sky Box Office and still make money. Might depend on how many will fork out to watch Hatton destroy a washed up Urkal though. If millions watched it on ITV, Hatton could make enough from the Advertisement revenue Itv put in our faces and from an average purse as this ain't a big fight really though couldn't he?nickd wrote:There is more money to Hatton having it on Box Office as opposed to ITV, hence the split from Warren in the first place.Max Molyneux wrote:Whoever wins though, it might be more profitable to stick it on ITV than SKy though as how many will really fork out 15 quid for this?nickd wrote: I doubt Warren could win a purse bid against FA/Sky Box Office and still make money. I don't think the figures from advertising revenue stack up against a successful PPV. The revenue goes to ITV anyhow, not the promoter, they would guarantee extension of contract however if the figures are consistently high, but I doubt ITV would be giving a cut of their advertising revenue away.Max Molyneux wrote:Might depend on how many will fork out to watch Hatton destroy a washed up Urkal though. And the fact that he can sell out the MEN if he's allowed to fight there.
