Decagon....so you've seen enough empirical evidence to think that the book is closed on this age old question? You may be right but I heard that there was still some sort of ambiguity to this. Possibly the mixing of siblings names or the use of middle names...though I have read/heard about the census solution which may indeed have solved the mystery.

I remember reading about this in Ring Magazine about the Census. Apparently where Moore and his mother disputed each other was in the year and the place of his birth. The census proved the age showing an Archibald Wright in the house showing Archie was right all along about his age, but that his mother was correct regarding where he was born.

Actually, Moore was born in 1901. He was a professional mime artist before he turned to boxing in the '30s.
