Buster Douglas Charged In Misdemeanor

Former heavyweight champ finds trouble in Columbus

Those misbehaving heavyweights are at it again.

Word out of Ohio is that Buster Douglas and his bro Billy have engaged in shenanigans that landed them in court.

It was nothing Etiennie-ish, or even in the McNeeley sphere, mind you.

Douglas and his younger brother were charged with falsifying an application for a motorcycle license.
That’s all?

Not very juicy, eh?

The former boxer, 46, and William Douglas III, 36, appeared in county court without counsel on Tuesday on misdemeanor charges of falsification and complicity. They requested a continuance to hire a lawyer, and were ordered to come back to face the music on Aug.1, the AP reports.

Billy apparently identified himself as his big bro while using his brother’s Ohio driver’s license and Social Security card to try obtain a motorcycle permit.

Not a real clever criminal duo, it’s sad to say, as presumably most folks in the area still remember Buster Douglas, a certified icon of Ohio, and know the difference between him and his brother.

Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles investigators said that on June 8, Buster Douglas waited in a car outside a BMV office in Columbus while his brother went inside to get a license for him. A clerk challenged William Douglas’ identity, a BMV spokesman said.

William Douglas “said James wanted a license, but Buster was out in the parking lot waiting,” the spokesman told AP.

Here’s what I don’t get.

Why didn’t the clerk tell little bro to tell big bro to get his lazy butt inside and apply for the permit himself?
