Buster Douglas In Trouble.

Former heavyweight champion James "Buster" Douglas faces a misdemeanor complicity charge accusing him of allowing his brother to apply for a motorcycle license using the boxer's name and identification, according to court records.
The former boxer's brother, William Douglas III, was charged with a misdemeanor count of falsification, said Lara Baker, an attorney with the city attorney's office. Each brother faces a maximum of six months in jail if convicted.
The brothers appeared in court Tuesday and requested a continuance to hire a lawyer. They were ordered to return to court Aug. 1.
Buster Douglas, a Columbus native, won the heavyweight title in a surprising knockout of the heavily favored Mike Tyson on Feb. 10, 1990, in Tokyo. He lost the belt later that year when knocked out in Las Vegas by Evander Holyfield.
The charge accuses William Douglas, 36, of identifying himself as his 46-year-old brother and using his brother's Ohio driver's license and Social Security card to obtain the motorcycle permit.
Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles investigators said that on June 8, Buster Douglas waited in a car outside a BMV office in Columbus while his brother obtained a license for him. A clerk challenged William Douglas' identity, BMV spokesman Fred Stratmann said.
William Douglas "said James wanted a license, but Buster was out in the parking lot waiting," Stratmann said.
A message seeking comment Wednesday was left at a listing for Buster Douglas. A number for William Douglas was disconnected.

Difference is McNeeley is in a poor state with drink and drugs, Douglas just couldn't be arsed to walk in and apply for a motorbike liecence, so he sent in his brother. he's guilty of being lazy

the same crime that saw him meekly surrender the heavyweight crown.
my memory is a little hazy, but wasnt he paid something like £18m for his no-show against Holyfield. I would love to know how much late money poured onto Holyfield after Douglas weighed in in his pants looking like he had done his 'training' on the pizza hut buffet table.

Douglas did let himself down that day he faced Holyfield, he would have struggled even if he was in top shape to take out Holyfield, but Douglas lost his desire after winning the crown from Tyson.
I think most have forgiven him for the Holyfield fight though, he will always be remembered for exposing Tyson.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Former heavyweight champion James "Buster" Douglas pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a charge of allowing his brother to use his identity to apply for a motorcycle license.
Buster Douglas, 46, was charged with a misdemeanor count of complicity earlier this month. His brother, William Douglas III, 36, pleaded not guilty to a falsification charge Tuesday in Franklin County Municipal Court.
Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles investigators said on June 8, Buster Douglas waited in a car outside a BMV office in Columbus while his brother got a license for him. A clerk challenged William Douglas' identity, BMV spokesman Fred Stratmann said after the charges were filed.

Wasn't it Douglas who was pushed into being a fighter by a domineering father? After he beat Tyson, I don't think he really gave a shit.
The Douglas that beat Tyson would have given any heavyweight in history a bloody hard night's work, he really gave Tyson one almighty battering and took some licks himself before prevailing. Mind, had Tyson landed that shot 10 seconds earlier, there's no way on God's green Earth Douglas would have survived the round.
