Could be a good one... I have always been a fan of Wright, but not sure how he will react to the Daws defeat - a surprinsingly one sided fight.

I was sure Wright was going to beat Daws. Just shows you - don't follow my tips.

Reid is a strange one. Cast as a journeyman, it seems he now realises he has got what it takes to do some damage at domestic level. Very strong lad for his size.

Will be a good one.

Incidently, is there any news on Daws's next opponent.... it could be quite hard for him to get title defence.... Jason Cook perhaps, or maybe Eamonn Magee - but who else.

He's already beaten, fairly comfortably arguably the two most viable challengers - Lynes and Wright. Ted Bami hasn't been active and Junior Witter is on the world scene.

I went for Daws over on the back of the Lynes win, Lynes' impressed vs Witter but Daws REALLY impressed in beating Lynes. I think Daws can go to European title level at least.... still think Wright is a damn good boxer mind.

The board of Control have nominated Barry Morrison as an opponent for Daws, despite his loss last time out.

Oh yes, I have read that. Well to be fair, his loss was to a non eligable fighter - and Morrison did win an eliminator in his fight before. So no problems with me for that nomination.

Yep, there's not a whole lot of choice. I'd sooner see Daws face Morrison than, say, Alan Bosworth in a gimme.

Oscar Hall gave Daws huge problems before Daws upset Lynes - thats a fight I wouldn't mind seeing again.

Other than the likes of Bami, Cook and Magee I don't know who else there is.

Although it wouldn't be a British title defence i'd love to see Daws v Olusegun

Morrison would be satisfactory as he scored a stunning win over Hickman at the weight, despite that recent loss.


Bami would seem a fair choice also.

Should Reid beat Wright then surely he deserves a crack too.

Certainly not Eamonn Magee. Doubt he'll ever be back.

If fair was fair, Reid would be well ahead of Jason Cook in the pecking order. I'm convinced Cook get beaten legitimately by Reid. Reid is really making some noise with his current results.

He did look pretty finished last time, but vowed he would be back - and also claims he can make Light Welter pretty easy.

Young Muttley is due to come back at 10st and would present a formidable adversary for Daws.

Isn't David Barnes moving down to Light-Welter now too ?

I went to Belfast to see him recently. I'd be surprised if we saw him in a ring again. Then again, with Eamonn, you never know.
