ANDREW GOLOTA on the october NYC show Valuev/Barrett undercard.

Some reward for finishing off Iron Mikes career! Not good managment by McBrides team, didnt utilise the Tyson win, didnt stay active, now McBride has no title shot & a very ominous looking task in the big crazy pole.

According to a Williamson interview I read recently Golota has been out of the gym since losing to Brewster. So he may not be in the best of shape even with a couple months preperation.

Wow. Interesting. All depends on how "crazy" Galota is. Otherwise I doubt even him being totally unfit would enable McBride to get a win.

With all due respect to McBride, at least he's not getting a shot at Lyakovich, in which case I wonder who he'll fight next

True but who the hell would back Golota in any fight? If McBride could hang around a few rounds who knows what the foul Pole might do!

Yep. pretty much sums up the fight. If McBride hangs around a few rds & throws some of that 270ibs back at Golota, he might well unravel (yet again).

Those kayo losses on McBrides record look horrific (Monaco, Murray et al) but as we saw with Maskaev confidence can be a big factor more than the form you were on a few years ago.

Weird match up!!

This match-up has got 'Pull out' written through it like Blackpool Rock.

Expect McBride v a walkover opponent (even for him).

I thought by the sounds of it Golota was in big trouble with the law...obviously not that bad if he is facing McBride. McBride must be badly managed i agree with Overhand, had a big win over a shell of Tyson and failed to capitilise or even take keep busy fights! Even an out of shape depressed Golota will beat him though IMO, Golota TKO inside 6 rounds.

Golota was robbed vs Byrd and ran Ruiz very close (some people thought he won). I know he got obliterated (when expected to win) vs Brewster... but I was dissapointed that he got cast aside quite so quickly, so glad he is getting this opportunity.

This fight could really sell well.

Car crash TV, people will be watching to see if Golota does something CRAZY!

Imagine the bar brawls after that one....drunken Poles vs drunken Irishmen in NY...it will be worse than the Bowe fights.

I wish that would be the case. But you have to remember, McBride has a very hard chin, and is very durable overall. He might make Golota's heart weaken just by taking everything Golota has and keeps walking him down, thus causing Golota to cave in.

Yes, McBride is slow slow slow slow..... but he's a tough kid.

Golota will only be on the card (my guess) if the card ends up in Chicago.

He was stopped by Michael Murray.

McBride does not have a good chin no way.

My thoughts exactly... the poster who says McBride has a hard chin is American. will of only seen the Tyson fight. wont have seen Michael Murray knock McBride out in 3, HBO didnt broadcast Louis Monaco destroying him, even Axel Schulz scored a rare knockout over McBride in Germany.

All the Tyson fight proved was that Iron Mike had lost his punch.

Indeed. Mike didn't even really try and land much, McBride was allowed to hold on for dear life and Mike just pretty much gave up. He could have continued, but just couldn't be bothered.

Yeah was a shameful show by Tyson. Anyone who bought that PPV was a fookin idiot.

You guys need to remember the "Maskaev Story". Knocked out by Whitaker, Sanders and Johnson, most fans thinking he was finished, then comes back to win the heavyweight title from Hasim Rahman after several good wins over opponents beforehand. I'm now convinced that there is more to just having a "good chin" or a "bad chin". It's more of a frame of mind. Having confidence and improving your defensive skills and learning to move with the punches and how to see punches coming, all help in improving your "chin skills".

Maskaev is a LOT better than McBride.
