Has the Urango fight been confirmed yet? I know Urango's camp has claimed the fight is signed, but has Fight Academy, or whoever Rick signed with when he left Warren, confirmed the fight as well?

There's been no word from the Hatton camp yet.

No word yet, an announcement was supposed to be made last week.

Are we supposed to be excited about this fight then?.... what happened to the superfights and becoming a legend?... seems to me Ricky is just interested in picking up mickeymouse titles from unknown opposition then giving up the title and going after another soft touch with a paper crown!... hardly the stuff of legends Ricky!... 8)

In fairness, it is hatton's title, the linear title he took from the great tszyu

Urango is aggressive, and if anyone's going to step back it's hatton. he'll match up well with hatton.

So what was gained by the move up to 147?.... now he's back fighting for a title he threw away, ....its hardly a superfight is it... Hattons just going round in circles....

If it leads to a fight with a big name opponent then I can't see the problem with him facing Urango.... I'd much rather watch Hatton v Urango than Hatton v Urkal that's for sure

The trouble is, it's all if's at the moment. The move to 147 was meant to lead to superfights. Now dropping back down is meant to lead to them.

This year has been wasted by Hatton.

There are at least 3 'superfights' to be made at 140: Corrales, Castillo and Cotto. Any one of those makes dropping back down and fighting Urango a worthwhile excercise, imo.
After Gatti's defeat staying at 147 would've been pointless anyway. Mayweather is tied up for the next year (Baldomir probably followed by a move to 154 to fight DLH) and Margarito is just way too big and dangerous (especially with Hatton's style) for just about everyone, including Floyd at welter.

Well they've been talking about a big fight since he fought Kostya, just like they talked about him fighting Witter for about 2 years!... all the big fight talk is just that, talk...

IF Hatton aims to fight one of Cotto,Corrales,Castillo or Witter(if he wins of course)after Urango(providing Hatton wins!)then I for one,would be pleased.
As has been said,PBF is tied up for the foreseeable,so why not drop back down to your proper weight division,if there are big fights to be made.

You can scratch Cotto from that list, because he's moving up, just as Hatton comes back down. That fight should have been made this year, rather than pissing around with a misguided 'world title' shot at 147.

Makes you wonder how much was Warren and how much is Team Hatton.
