Elcock vs Blundell.

Good scoop by the BBN team.

I hope the BBBoC considers this match (albeit informally) as an eliminator for the Brtish title... should be a good one, although I think Elcock showed vs Dann that he has a significantly better chin than Blundell and I think he will be too much. Blundell is famed for KO'ing Rhodes and hurting Farnell (before getting KO'd himself the following round - with one of the best punches I have seen). However, Blundell's power isn't (IMO) what the BBN article implies it is - his last KO was 4 years ago.
Elcock KO 6.

I think Elcock wins faster, Elcock in about 3 or 4.

I think Wayne will stop him in three.
Wayne said a couple of things to me off record about the BBBoC!
Re: Blundell's power. I've never seen Blundell fight live - i don't think- but he has scored a few stoppages and i took it on face value. However, he has been matched with journeymen since the Bendall loss and they don't give you the chance to land clean.
Maybe a little gunshy, still?
But as Wayne said to me: he wants rounds and would prefer to look good going the distance than score a fluke stoppage.
Wayne is primarily a boxer, but against Dann he thought he was a puncher and threw single shots when he could have been throwing three or four.
If Bendall can beat him in two then Wayne should do him as quick.

Hi all,
Long time no speak.
I would tend to agree that Elcock will beat Blundell fairly easy. I was at the fight when he sparked rhodes up to that point he was loosing and to be honest looked a capable if limited boxer in all departments.
I think Elcock is a far better fighter than what he showed against dann.
Elcock in 4 max

Elcock should win this.
I also think t earticle played up the piwer of Blundell and also Elcock.
It mentioned Elcock as number 3 in Britain. No he is not.
I would have him 5th or 6th.
1) Howard Eastman
2) Richard Williams
3) Scott Dann
4) Lockett
5) Rhodes
6) Elcock

Tom Podmore.
Why bother to say that?.
Either post it or keep it to yourself - off record conversations have no place on a discussion forums.
Benefits no one.
Spuddy and Ben Carey started off and continue to do shit like that.

I think Elcock should now be ranked above Rhodes. Rhodes could have done better Lockett and showed that maybe he could beat him in a rematch - but he didn't. Elcock has avenged his other defeat (and did it well).
Its all subjective, like having Williams above Dann is subjective.
I really look forward to a possible Elcock vs Williams match, I predict a 1000 post thread on that.

All true - but part of me thinks that Dann never did really wanted the Richard Williams fight.
Dann could have fought RW last year but did not want to.
For that reason I think RW is be ranked above Scott Dann.
PLus I think RW is the better fighter and fought at a higher level even though at Lt Middle.
Elcock VS Williams?.
Decent fight but RW stops him. Still think Elcock is weak chinned.

Elcock has proved he has a good chin against dann who is heavy handed, While we are on the subject how has RW earned 2nd in the UK two fights at middle against wastern european opposition??, Iknow Wayne very well and he'd take a fight with Williams or Eastman in a heartbeat, Elcock has also won an eliminator vs Murphy so why is Wayne not fighting for the title?, do you have to loose three or four in a row as Eastman has, Elcock and Eastmen are big middles RW is not.

Richard Williams is a former IBO Champion and 2 x Commonwealth Champion.
Check out who he has beaten ( even though it is at light middle) and then look and see who Elcock has beaten ( and been beaten by) and there is your answer.

I've looked at williams's record, and checked out who he's beated, i'll say again, no justification for being number two, most fighters in this country have been fed on Eastern European's, Taylor was an excellent win, but Martinez destroyed williams in both fights, though Martinez is world class.

RW has faced several people who have fought at the highest level.
Has anyone other than Ryan Rhodes done that at Middleweight?.
Has Elcock?
Pestraiev Fought Pernell Whitaker.
Shannon Taylor - Shane Mosley
Andrew Murray (RIP) - Ike Quuartey
Martinez - Margarito. Martinez wpts 12 RW and W Retired 9 RW.
Hardly destroyed. Destroyed is Lennox Lewis Vs Hashim Rahman 2.
He deserves the number 2 slot.

Martinez did destroy Williams though, on both occassions Williams was mullered from the first to the last (or in the second fight till the 9th). martinez was different class both times.
