there HAS to be a rematch. neither was at their best. calzaghe broke his left hand. asiku hurt one of his pectorals. the rematch will be better

seriously, i hear Palle are asking Calzaghe to defend against his mandatory of 2 years, Rudy Markussen. Will that be his October 14 opponent, I hope so as Markussen is a world class fighter.

Yes hes better than Jeff Lacy  Wait until your Danish buddy steps into the ring with Calzaghe, then you'll see another masterclass :box: :TU:

Dean Powell have asked Team Palle if Markussen would be ready for a fight on october 14th. Sounds like they have him as back up.

Lacy was more or less the same class as Ashira, albeit a bit bigger. So with an Ashira-refight Calzaghe would maintain the level he reached in the last fight. If he can make 154, Ashira's natural weight, that is.

I've heard that Frankie Warren is searching intensively boxrec's top 26-50 in the light-middleweight division, presumably in preparation of October 14 (the date where Calzaghe couldn't fight Beyer). Ashira seems to be one of the most suitable names, otherwise Warren will have to go to 147.

i wouldn't go that far, ashira hasn't beaten anyone as good as vanderpool. by saying that, you just open people up for dissing kessler's opposition

if we're all going to knock Calzaghe, do it for the huge gaps he has between fighting good fighters & lower level fighters. After he beat Byron Mitchell, he left it about THREE YEARS, to fight another top 3 or 4 fighter, in Lacy. Shocking and disgraceful.

Or Calzaghe can go to LH and fight Reggie Strickland
