Will he fight again this year? Is his carrer going anywhere?

Thought he looked awful against McDonagh in his last fight. One fight last year and one fight, so far, this year. This doesn't look like the career of a fighter going anywhere fast that's for sure. In fact, 26 fights in 11 years as a pro explains the static nature of his career. It's disappointing I thought he would have achieved a lot more than he has, and he's not going to improve at the age of 33

Didn't look good vs Bladt before that. Was actually looking poor vs Tak then bang.

I think its fair to say Warren has not handled his career very well. A puncher like Alexander will always put bums on seats. I was ringside for his war with Samuels it was the best atmosphere I can ever remember and the best fight I have seen live and up close like that. I was buzzing for hours afterwards.

Should have fight soon. The WBU belt does not help

Story of Alexanders career. Terrible shame, I would love to hear Warrens side of the story on how he has appallingly mis-managed a talented and exciting fighters career when it's supposed to be what he does for a living.

He's last two fights were always going to look bad against back foot boxers like Bladt and McDonagh. Put him against another come forward boxer and you're gonna get excitement. Most badly managed boxer in Britain?

Warren's fouled-up his career terribly. All that bloke goes on about is loyalty, well where's his bloody loyalty to Alexander ?

It's a crying shame that we've been deprived of so many fights involving such an exciting banger.

He won the European title then was out of the ring for a prolongued period of time and couldn't get a fight. Abysmal.

Yep, completely unfathomable to me. Apparently he was persuaded to relinquish the EBU crown. Seems like a case of complete mis-management.

Shame how his career has gone.

Former British and European at least or most could of got him to a proper title shot after the WBO.

Even more puzzling when you consider he saved a Warren show by coming in to fight Harry Simon at very short notice. Some thanks!

24HRS notice to fight someone as rock hard as Simon. He still gave it a damn good go too.

I suppose the pay day must have been worth it against McDonagh, but with all due respect to McDonagh, it was a fight that was beneath Alexander is my opinion. I don't see what Wayne could have gained from boxing a rotton spoiler like McDonagh.

I just got the impression Warren was happy to springboard McDonagh off of the back of Wayne. Warren and Brain Hughes obviously got their calculations wrong because they don't usually take many risks, and thing was Alexander has rededicated himself and his fitness is excellent nowadays.

It's time Wayne got his dues. He's beaten the young pretender McDonagh, launched Takaloo into orbit, smashed Samuals through the ropes to defeat and went 5 furious rounds with Harry Simon at the drop of a hat. Pull your finger out Frank!

Funny how Alexander knocked Tak out cold yet its Tak whose career has gone on the upswing while Alexander is left to rot his best years away... if Warren doesnt rate him why doesnt he let him go elsewhere so that he can actually fight?.... at one time there were about half a dozen good prospects at 154 domestically and about a dozen possible great match ups but all we got was Alexander vs Samuels and Williams vs Samuels and all the guys careers have turned to sh*t.... yet Warren claims to be a great manager/promoter!??....

Not all Warren's doing Roberts and Williams were/are with Matchroom.

As far as Richard Williams goes, Hearn is shite as well.

Yep, but with Roberts I think he will be chuffed with his career.

When Wayne was euro champ and Williams IBO the both really struggled for fights, it's a shame nobody had the balls to match them

It's a terrible shame. I'm 100% certain Williams would have accepted a fight with Alexander. I'm pretty sure, at lightmiddle, Wayne would have obliged too. So it doesn't take a genius to work out where the problem rests with.

Don't tell me Sky would not have coughed up for this one.

Still no news, cant he leave Warren and go somewhere and gets some fights.Ditch the wbu would be a good start

Alexander's the poster boy for them, unfortunately. For sentimental reasons one of my favourite British fighters to watch.

his last 3 fights have all been set up for him to lose really.
Tak, Bladt and McDonagh in manchester were all tricky fights.

Shame the way Wayne's career is gone.

With his punch you never know who he could of beaten on the world scene.

Warren did say recently Alexander has turned down fights in the past. Tough to know what his motivations are at the moment. Will be interesting to see what happens next but Wayne isn't getting any younger!
