Kessler's pro Debut

Ok, this probably isn't news to most of you, because I'm sure you can use youtube just as well as me. However, for those of you who haven't searched the internet's finest video library, here is Mikkel Kessler's professional debut, against the mighty Kelly Mays:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVVyVTW3D2I

To be honest, the fight is pretty pointless. It's quite entertaining though, to see the tattoo-less Kessler (sporting a classic '90's semi-curtains haircut) presenting a bunch of flowers to his opponent before the first bell. I have no idea what that's about.

I know this is hardly the best thread this forum has seen, but it is the off-season, so cut me some slack. Besides, it gives Max and Pundit something to talk about...

Serious note to anyone who has some more relevant Kessler footage: any chance I can get a copy? I've seen next to nothing of the guy, and I'd like to before I pass a real judgement.

Nah.. Go ahead and pass judgement before seeing more footage. - More fun that way.

I've seen that fight. Can't believe he was at light middle for it.

Flowers then a punch in the face?? Surely it should be the other way round?

He lands a jab and a right, I believe, and the guy he KOed never made it out of the first in his career again I believe.

Why has Kessler never fought Markussen?

They know each other very well and have sparred a lot. Markussen knows exactly what he would be in for - and probably doesn't like the idea of getting completely thrashed to the point where it's ridiculous.

Did anyone notice the commentator say 'breakdance' when the opponent tried to get up? Funny stuff

Some of the foreign commentators are funny, i remember watching Marco Huck V Lee Swaby and at the end Swaby was climbing out of the ring when the Germans beckoned him back in. Swaby looking disgusted turns to his trainer and says "They want back in the f*****g ring now!" and the German commentator howls with laughter and repeats "They vant me back in the furking ring"....hmm maybe you had to be there :TU:
